    Crazed Substitute DM

Agreed. And I look at it this way: They probably had fun, it was probably a bit of a change, and they are probably eager to settle back down to the normal game. If any or all of these is true, then there's no problem. I don't even think you should call it a "dream". Just say, we'll pick up...

    Adjustments For d20 Weapons Locker

Interestingly, over the weekend, Discovery Channel ran a Mythbusters marathon. One of the episodes had them taking a recently-deceased pig carcass, and having a police weapons expert shoot everything in the book at it. Small and large hand guns, rifles, shotguns, fully automatic assault...

    Searing Not-Quite-Light

Yeah, and it's noticibly less broken than the Radiant Servant in CDiv. I figure with the notation in LibMort (and the ding-dongin' title and description of the spell), that not making it a [Light] spell was an oversight. So, it is in my campaign, that's for sure.

    Gamers Born in 1974?

Another one for 74. And 30's great. 29 sucked, but 30's been great. I too had a son born recently (February). I might also point out... wasn't 1974 a big year for gamers in other, notable, Gygax-related ways? Maybe it was just in the air that year...

Build me a fighter worthy of glorious death!

You've clearly never seen video of Morihei Ueshiba in action. You know, the founder of Aikido? Good luck mobbing him with 5 town guards.

Defeated by puzzle - campaign over: Here is the offending puzzle!

Ask the DM if the pattern in the puzzle was related to the pattern of monsters.

Defeated by puzzle - campaign over: Here is the offending puzzle!

Question - did each portal spew forth a monster on the same round?

Do you trust the people you game with?

Yes, my gaming group is composed of my best friends, and people they recommended. As a side note, one of my PCs actually has near-max HP, and was max until level 5 or 6. I saw each and every roll, and he just rolled lucky. It was uncanny. And, considering he has terrible luck with the dice...

Defeated by puzzle - campaign over: Here is the offending puzzle!

This puzzle sucks. Personally, I would be happy the DM is letting the campaign hinge on it - because it means I can walk away now! From what you have said here and in the other thread, this doesn't sound like an enjoyable game.

    Adamant Entertainment PDF Products

But my point is that they shouldn't have to. Salient points: Some of the major selling points of pdfs are low cost and convenience time is money time is required to turn off borders and/or cut and paste into a new document and/or mess around with Reader settings turning off borders and/or...

    Adamant Entertainment PDF Products

It isn't about how many mouse clicks it takes. It's about it taking any at all. With a few notable exceptions (i.e. SRD, etc.), these are convenience products. Therefore, they should be convenient! Easy to use, inexpensive to buy and print, quick to install into your game. If it takes me...

    Adamant Entertainment PDF Products

Well Said! It seems to me that some producers - and I here point NO fingers - seem to forget that I am buying the product for one purpose - the content. If I want artsy borders, I can do them myself. I'm buying your rules because I don't want to make them up myself, and probably wouldn't be...

In David Brin's Uplift Series, the uplifted chimps are called neo-chimps... they're basically Moreaus, if you look at it from a strictly rules-mechanics point of view.

Yes and no - It's a quibble, but most copies of Acrobat I've seen automatically default to scaling the page so that it will fit inside the printer's margins - usually down to around 93% or so.

    Orwell's Animal Farm in D&D

A long time ago, in a super hero / TMNT game, we faced a villian called Colonel Sanders. He was a 9' tall chicken with a flame thrower, out for revenge against the humans for the damage caused to his kind by the KFC chain. We took him seriously, let me tell you. Until the mutated weasel...
