D&D 5E (2024) What new jargon do you want to replace "Race"?

My issues with slopes is the assertion that they'll never stop.

D&D 5E (2024) What new jargon do you want to replace "Race"?

That's fair. Personally, I find slippery slopes generally a hard sell.

D&D 5E (2024) What new jargon do you want to replace "Race"?

There's a lot of daylight between generic as possible and overly prescriptive. :)

D&D 5E (2024) What new jargon do you want to replace "Race"?

Forgive me if this was just public consensus, and not explicit text, but wasn't part of the goal of a book with multiverse in the title to not foreground setting specific detail, to make the entries more widely usable for DMs?

D&D 5E (2024) What new jargon do you want to replace "Race"?

They're listed in the fantastical races section, and humanoids like the swashbuckler are listed in the bestiary section. Monsters is used here closer in meaning to foe, not as description.

D&D 5E (2024) What new jargon do you want to replace "Race"?

It could. It's just not that fun, or enjoyable, or engaging, or interesting, for a lot of people. It's quite inherently one note. Anything you need something like this for can be done with a subset group instead of the entirety of a species. Not to mention when there is society or free will...

D&D 5E (2014) Companion thread to 5E Survivor - Subclasses (Part XV: The FINAL ROUND)

I would say roughly 90% of my Battle Master moves were Commander's Strike for our Rogue, Trip Attack, and Pushing Attack. Occasionally throwing in a Menacing Attack or Maneuvering Attack.

    D&D 5E (2024) The state of Multiclass-Dips in One D&D

Oh good, and certainly it does not. It just sounded like that video, given the creator, was focusing on one side to the neglect of the other, so I thought it worth making sure the context was present here. It's thorny, because I definitely agree with you on the Cleric front. That Divine Spark...

D&D 5E (2014) Companion thread to 5E Survivor - Subclasses (Part XV: The FINAL ROUND)

Thief is the only one left that I'm not fond of. It's a classic, it's straightforward, but on a subclass to subclass level, it's just not as interesting to me as the others.

I'm way too fond of letting conversations go on and on and on in an effort to try to adjudicate the result off the cuff, rather than letting the characters use their social skills and proficiencies once I know the direction in which they are arguing

    D&D 5E (2024) The state of Multiclass-Dips in One D&D

Not that this in any way invalidates the bulk of, nor the value or interest of your post, but in light of this comment I do think it's worth mentioning that in the Crawford video, it's specifically called out "I mentioned the most important one of the two issues is we're asking you to make this...

Emergency? Obviously unavoidable. You tell me a week before there's a concert you want to go to that night? Absolutely. An hour before the session, "I'm just not sure I'm feeling up to it today." I...wouldn't want someone to force themselves through playing if they couldn't be present and enjoy...

D&D 5E (2024) What do you want to see from the bastion system?

Things I want from a home base: Number one by far: High customization/modularity. Every time we've had a home base in the game, everyone gets excited about customizing "their" area of it, and I think that's vital to getting full buy in from an entire party. Provides mechanically actionable...

To be clear, I was saying what I did in regards to sexual violence, not as a reply to your planar post. Love planes.

Not a single person here is advocating for including content of that nature without explicit prior consent and opt-in from everyone involved. Right?
