    Aasimar Commoner Proficiencies Question

You could argue that the line "Racial Feats: An aasimar gains feats according to its class levels" replaces the Outsider entry but the language is additive rather than replacing the Outsider traits ... On the other hand, no where does it say an Aasimar has Outsider traits...

    Yet Another Eldritch Knight

Actually, I misread Melee Arcana. basicly you can deliver a touch attack with a melee weapon but casting the spell is not part of the standard action, right? If so then I completely misread it and it's probably fine the way it is. The casting in armor is too strong. at level 10, a spellsword...

    Stat requirements

Actually, my wife and I dug out our copy of D&D Heroes last night and it reminded me of this thread. In the game, the number of points you get for your abilities is based on Charisma so we pass around a necklace of charisma +6 and a ring of Charisma +4 when we are close to levelling. (Both items...

    Aasimar Commoner Proficiencies Question

I picked commoner because it provide the most stripped down proficiencies (Choose one simple weapon proficiency O.O) Well, I've always thought that Aasimar and Tieflings (and especially Genesai) were a little on the weak side. I thought that maybe they gave them the LA (as opposed to tweaking...

It doesn't say whereas Wall of Stone does. So ... no idea :heh:

    Mirror Image vs Greater Cleave

For the record (Since I didn't know), the FAQ says that destroying the Images does trigger cleave. That said, Great Cleave is not the best counter to Mirror Image. If you destroy an image, you get another attack and if it's the caster, his remaining duplicates are unharmed. This does mean that...

    Blind Swordsman - Prestige Class

The only problem with a blind archer is that only example of one I can think of is from Robin Hood, Men in Tights ...(tight tights) The blindsight ability already has the deafening caveat built into it in the Monster Manual, but I can add it here for clarity. I'd prefer to leave the Silence...

    Eldritch Knight strategies

If you're making a character from scratch to be an EK, I'm not sure if this works (See this thread), but ... Start with a Tiefling Wizard or an Aasimar Sorcerer. At 3rd level pay 3,000 xp to reduce your LA to +0 (See Unearthed Arcana optional rules). At 6th level enter the Eldritch Knight...

    Aasimar Commoner Proficiencies Question

What weapons and armor is a level 1 Aasimar Commoner proficient in? According to the Outsider description, he would be proficient with All simple and martial weapons, Light and Medium armor, and shields except for Tower shields. The Native subtype doesn't change anything. Is this correct...

    Elan Template

How big an impact does the Abberation type have? Does it do anything besides make you immune to Charm/Dominate/Hold/Fondle Person spells?

    dragon disciple question

The Dragon Disciple is basicly a Prestige Class version of monster classes presented in Savage Species. Fore reference, look at this break down of the Minotaur. Basicly, you take longer to gain the full effects, but in return you have some extra features and full HD. The Dragon Disciple...

    Blind Swordsman - Prestige Class

Well, the armor check penalty to the listen check is only there because it seemd to make sense that you can't hear your foe 60' away if your full plate is clanking every step you take. I suppose you could replace the foe detection ability of Precise Hearing with Blindsight 5' at 1rst level...

    Blind Swordsman - Prestige Class

If he's deafened he goes back to being blind, so yeah. :] As for the DC for distractions, all the normal Listen modifers (except for distance) apply to Precise Hearing (It's just a Listen check after all). On a side note, at what point can a character progressing through this class make...

    Blind Swordsman - Prestige Class

Yes, it was intentional that Precise Hearing was usable with ranged attack. First level is meant as an upgrade to blind-fight. I'm considering a limitation for range attacks, but not sure of the mechanic ... What I'm thinking of right now is when the Blind Swordsman (Archer), makes a ranged...

    Yet Another Eldritch Knight

Actually, the Spellsword (Complete Warrior p79) sounds pretty much like what you want in an Eldritch Knight. At 10th level he can nearly ignore the spell failure on normal Full Plate armor and the Melee Arcana is very similar to the Channel Spell albility except that the Spellsword has limited...

    Blind Swordsman - Prestige Class

After reading about a nifty character concept in the D&D rules forum, I decided to try my hand at making a Blind Swordsman prestige class. Note: I couldn't find the rules for trying to pinpoint foes while blinded. Blind Swordsman Although the name of the prestige class is Blind Swordsman, it...

    Blind Swordsman?

Another option is ask your DM if you play a Grimlock Swordsman. (He was the best Dinobot ...)

    Yet Another Eldritch Knight

I can't place my finger on the exact reason, but this feels wrong. You do what a spellsword does, but much better. The Melee Arcana is too powerful. I'm not sure about casting in armor. Off-hand arcana is a neat idea. :D

On of my PCs is going INSANE! Advice needed.

Also, check out Hero's of Horror. I don't have the book, so I can't say for certain, but Lunatic Insight might be what you are looking for :)
