Or you can give them Smite Opponent, which targets anyone who has attacked the paladin, his allies, or who clearly opposes the cause. However, these kinds of things do sort of remove Smite Evil as a lie detector.

The Artificer is extremely abusable. Type in "Omnificer" in Google for the trick. If I recall, it allows him to get a +infinite bonus on knowledge checks.

Just a thought. It might be easier to say that the limbs regrow 1 inch /month. So that way, it would take an arm and hand about 2.5 years to regrow, not twenty or so. If it were one cubic inch, it would take... well, a while. Also, can they reattach limbs?
