generally you can only take selectable features like invocations multiple times if the feature says you can. court of the outer realms makes no such specification, so unless your dm says you can, you can't. you CAN, however, change what options you picked (or swap the invocation out entirely)...

i mean...do you do that for parts of the settings you don't think your players will ever interact with or will ever effect them (e.g. completely different continents they'd have no reason to visit)? if so, why? and if not, doesn't that demonstrate on some level that you DO consider the PCs to be...

honestly, it might be intentional - that's how 3.5 runs reach and i've noticed some 3.5 influence in level up. i still think it'd be silly and i'll continue to run it like in 5e, but i'm not sure it's an accident.

i mean, i guess you could argue that as you grow in power you attract more and more powerful spirits, but then i'd say that should be tied to upcasting and should come with more benefits (surely a more powerful spirit would be able to do more for you, no?).
