Cyberpunk 2077 Now Contains Rules For Playing Cyberpunk RED TTRPG

Not in the slightest! I do occasionally have to correct perceptions from the game, but it's mostly little stuff, like The Mox and The Animals not existing, Johnny Silverhand not being the leader in the Fall of the Towers. Sandevistans not warping time and reality was another one. Looking back...

    What are your go-to dice?

For DCC, I have a plain black set that was my first DCC RPG dice set. It's not as funky or colorful, but they treat me right. For all other games, I've got a set of amethyst dice, and set of candy corn color scheme dice that both make me happy.

    Tell your overdue Kickstarter story

Argh, yeah, Hunter's Mark got me too. Sold as adding Bloodborne meets Monster Hunter to D&D, that was up my alley. I strongly suspect that it would still be outstanding if Troll Lord Games hadn't stepped in. I was not impressed by the finished product.

Cyberpunk 2077 Now Contains Rules For Playing Cyberpunk RED TTRPG

I have to say, Cyberpunk 2077 was one of the best tools for selling my group on playing Cyberpunk Red.

What are you reading in 2024?

It's been about 30 years since I last read The Hellbound Heart. So good. If there's ever going to be a successful reboot of Hellraiser, I think they'll have to go closer to the book. Trying to re-boot Pinhead unfortunately just isn't working.

    Did the nerds win?

Also, the way that you could pick keywords for each stat to describe your character. So that what would've just been flavor text in other games, also had mechanical effects.

D&D General What is your most prized Dungeons and Dragons Product?

I got a bunch of things for what counts as now dirt-cheap before the boom. Had I known what was coming, I would've been more aggressive in my collecting. But that is ever the case with stuff that becomes collectible.

    Did the nerds win?

Same. Vampire the Masquerade was like a bolt of lightning. And I think it deserves mention that the way it approached role-playing and the advice it gave was revelatory and eye-opening.

D&D Releases Playtest for Updated Artificer

Looking at Wizards' schedule, the other possibility for where this class would fall is the Forgotten Realms Players Guide. But it certainly also could be something not yet announced, like an Eberron release. After reviewing that PDF, as much as I like the Artificer class, I really don't like...

    Did the nerds win?

I'd point out that if you went back in time, Lord of the Rings was associated more with hippies and counter-culture than any sort of geek culture - Frodo Lives buttons and graffiti, Led Zeppelin songs, Gandalf's Garden, and so on. Roy Fokker's death was traumatic. Robotech didn't shy away from...

D&D General What is your most prized Dungeons and Dragons Product?

I barely remember that era, as I dropped out of gaming for a couple years in the 90s. But I do remember a friend of mine coming up with a get-rich-quick scheme using Magic cards. Spoiler alert, he did not end up getting rich. The irony is that if he had just bought a bunch of boxes and not...

Would You Get A D&D Tattoo?

I used to spend forever thinking about the deep meaning of each new tattoo. Now I still spend forever between tattoos because I can't decide which of the many planned ones to get next.

Hope Reborn Focuses On The Cyberpunks In Your Neighborhood, In Your Neighborhood, In Your Neighborhood

It's cool to see a full-length campaign for Cyberpunk Red. And I love the cover, with the Rocker wielding a literal axe. I see what they did there.

Would You Get A D&D Tattoo?

One of my tattoo artists once said that when people first start getting tattoos, they worry a ton over meaning, but once you've got a bunch of tattoos, you tend to be less precious about them.

    Did the nerds win?

Looking at some of the cultural wars going on in the nerdosphere, I hate to, but I agree.

What are you reading in 2024?

I finished reading Sterling's Islands in the Net. It's a solid novel, with some predicts both laser accurate and short of the mark. It's also got an atypical protagonist for the cyberpunk genre, a married mother in her 30s. A far cry from burnt-out Case, that. Now I'm re-reading The Voyage of...

D&D General What is your most prized Dungeons and Dragons Product?

I have only bought one shrink-wrapped second-hand gaming product in my life, the Revenge of Rusak. It's not a well-regarded module, but I had such fond personal memories of it. I love that copyright disclaimer! It's always cool to see these old artifacts of people's games Absolutely. The boom...

OSR OSR game with more dangerous magic

Cosigned on Dungeon Crawl Classics. My first full DCC campaign, the wizard came out of it with a second face on the back of her head.

D&D General What is your most prized Dungeons and Dragons Product?

I should have specified that I was talking about the used market...I was thinking of the early 00s, when I went into my FLGS and bought the Greyhawk folio for $20. Stuff like that rather than buying books when they were new. I feel like once we hit the '10s, prices started skyrocketing on the...

D&D General What is your most prized Dungeons and Dragons Product?

I miss the days when you could pretty much get any old D&D book for between $5 and $20. But time moves on inexorably.
