RPG stats for all Dungeons of Dread minis

The reroll ability is a nice ability for a PC, but on an NPC it takes up time and space that could be better spent on interesting, active powers.

What would you call them? I find Wizards' names unimpressive. But I find the alternatives people suggest even worse.

    E6: The Game Inside D&D

He had a baby and made a New Year's Resolution not to post for at least a year.

Why not make Even the Odds a basic melee attack with that added benefit?

Here's a list of published settings. Which are good for the PoL style?

    Original Creations Compilations (contributions welcome)

Interestingly, some of the first monsters I brainstormed for 4e were the ferocious, sentient apes of a mysterious island. But whereas yours are very low level, mine were designed for the final adventure at the paragon tier, complete with enormous Ape King (solo 21), Ape Shamans (orangutangs) and...

Here's a list of published settings. Which are good for the PoL style?

People that think Eberron isn't POI often forget about the map scale. If you compare the Faerun scale to the Khorvaire scale you realise Khorvaire is about the size of Faerun. When I realised that, Eberron's points of light suddenly looked much farther apart. Khorvaire Faerun

Particularly after hearing malcolm's reasoning, I like the idea of half-orcs getting a bonus to Wisdom. The archetype of the 'noble savage' is a common one in fiction, and I think it's perfectly suitable for stubborn, world-wise half-orcs to be wiser than the typical human.

    Non-Human Centered Campaigns

That's interesting - my planned campaigns typically also have dragonborn enslaved by tieflings. And eladrin are either overlords of the elves, or the elven nobles that abandoned their kindred hundreds of years ago and still believe they have a right to rule the elves.

I like it! Do the shackles make the person they clamp onto 'slowed'?

From Robin Laws LJ: "small projects" for WotC

I assume it's the names of the paragon paths - perhaps he scooped their next Design and Development Article. EDIT: I too was scooped!

Richard Baker on Orcus and Deity Slaying

It's an Elite 26. I assume the demon lords will be solos. I think over twice as powerful as a pit fiend is sufficiently powerful.

    Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder

I worry that Pathfinder is trying to be something its not. Instead of focusing on 3.5's strengths (e.g. skill points, non-combat material, daily resource management) it seems to focus on 4e's strengths (no skill points, non-combat material silo'ed or RP based, action resource management)...

Would you allow carte blanche power selection?

Why? A frail wizard won't be able to take full advantage of a barbarian's powers, so if they suit his/her player's character why not let him/her have them?

4th Edition and the Immortals Handbook

Other publishing companies, like Necromancer Games, are currently doing much the same thing Krust is - statting stuff up for practice, playing around with the numbers, planning. Some work will have to be redone but 4E is much closer to 3E than 3E was to 2E

Design & Development: Warlord Article UP!

Actually, you were the first person on this thread to use the term controller to refer to the warlord. But I agree that you can discuss the warlord's powers without using 4E specific terminology. After all, new players to the game aren't going to know a leader from a controller either - and yet...

Armor & Coins - please, No.

I like having one armor per AC bonus, or thereabouts. It means armor proficiency can be easily balanced. Plus, why would would wizards (controllers) wear heavier armor than rogues (strikers)? I believe they've gotten rid of bucklers and tower shields (I could be mistaken) so that'd be a step in...
