To paraphrase myself from a different thread, any Player who decides to have his Character give anyone orders based on what class he's chosen should get his ass bounced to the street. Leadership, in an adventuring party, comes as a gift from the party to the "leader".

How about "Veteran"? It has that "military" feel that so many seem to desire, without the "rank" or "tyrannical leader" aspect that many of us find objectionable (even though I, too am a big fat Travis Morgan and John "Warlord of Barsoom" Carter fan), and it has history with the game as it was...

If some dink thinks he's the leader just because he took "warlord" as his class, he should get his ass bounced out to the street. Better if WotC avoids all that by using a more generic name. I'd recommend "Champion" or "Stalwart" in place of "warlord".

Much prefer the hobbity flavor. As for humans being widely traveled for no reason, that isn't true at all. Humans need to earn money, desire more living space, have to hide from the authorities, ditch an unhappy marriage, cut the apron strings, whatever. Those are reasons, good ones, why...

I voted Greyhawk, Al-Qadim, Mystara, Kara-Tur and Other (Spelljammer is my Other of preference).
