Yes indeed, that is the trend, to get as many people as possible updating the products of their own accord. Lots more work is being done in this very area as we speak :)

It may be a stylesheet error. Sometimes, if the page loads but the stylesheet fails (maybe due to server load or bad internet connection) you'll get that problem as the color for the links is in the stylesheet file. Just a possible cause to try and explain away the mystery that is "My Computer"!
