    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row - "Rat-catchers"

Falling into routine, Thurst enlists Mairan's assistance in collecting the ratling tails while Aeshen checks for anything worthwhile the bodies might be carrying. Hijacking Aeshen isn't really in my game plan, but I think we forgot to check last time, and Thurst can't be bothered to care...

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row - "Rat-catchers"

Thurst looks up from loading his pistol, considers the current battlefield situation, and is suddenly very bored. He begins to have a very detailed conversation about the proper care and maintenance of steamtech with the magically incapicitated ratlings. I'm not sure if I am supposed to be...

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row - "Rat-catchers"

Thurst is reloading. I lost some of my extra help documents, but I am pretty sure reloading a firearm is a full round action. I won't complain if Thurst is some kind of minor gun deity though. :p I'm not really sure about "mezzed creature" etiquette so if all else fails, he can assist other...

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row - "Rat-catchers"

Grunting in distaste, Thurst reloads his pistol and moves a short distance ahead of the group.

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row - "Rat-catchers"

Counting on the innate stupidity of the creature, Thurst encourages it to stay within Mairan's reach by threatening to shoot it with his now empty pistol. With an impish grin, the dwarf chuckles at the ratling and asks, "BOOM?" Assist other on Mairan. I hope you enjoy this tricky setup. It's...

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row

You are right, I'm a putz sometimes. I'm going to stick with midnight. 3.14 can still be a holy number, it's a bit gimmicky for a prayer hour. Midnight is both the beginning and end of a clock's cycle, and so probably best represents order.

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row

Just to be clear, is a pistol going to be subject to the same attack of opportunity in melee range? It's a unique sort of weapon, and I can see it going both ways.

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row - "Rat-catchers"

Upon seeing the ratlings, Thurst lets out a hearty laugh, as if a great tension had been released. "Is that all? Rats, I can handle rats!" Raising his Dragon Pistol to fire, he pauses for a moment, "Ach, but there are alut of them arn they?" Cursing, he instead moves into a defensive position...

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row - "Rat-catchers"

Thurst keeps his silence and maintains his vigil at the rear of the group, unsure if anything can be taken at face value down here anymore. Thurst is GRUMPY, roll initiative on mechanical withdrawels.

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row

Sorry, I've been checking often, but some of this is out of my and Thurst's expertise, so I think, "just have him follow everyone else's lead", but then I think "do I really need to keep posting one sentence Thurst is grumpy posts", and then I forget about it for a few days. Edit: Which, I...

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row - "Rat-catchers"

Still grumbling, Thurst joins the others on the trek down the tunnel.

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row - "Rat-catchers"

Apparently lacking in gratitude towards fate, Thurst curses to himself over the lost ratling tails while trying to decide which path looks the most reliable. The first two corpses fell into the chasm, what about the one Mairan killed?

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row - "Rat-catchers"

Thurst grunts in annoyance and moves into a position to shield Valana from retaliation, reloading his weapon when he is able. I'm not sure if I am allowed to attempt blocking ratling line of sight, let alone if I can do both that and reload. If line of sight doesn't matter, would aid another be...

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row - "Rat-catchers"

Thurst grips his pistol, and prepares to follow Valana's lead.

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row - "Rat-catchers"

Thurst doesn't say a word as he readies his pistol and takes his place at the end of the party.

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row - "Rat-catchers"

Thurst blinks, then sighs. "I think I need a drink." As per habit at this point, he works with Mairan to add the new rat tails to his belt fetish.

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row - "Rat-catchers"

Screaming ratlings. A broken pulley and grinding gears, a sabotaged steam engine, a crack in a possessed furnace, a newly sobered wench discovering and lamenting her mistake. Thurst has woken up to far more unbearable noises in the past, screaming ratlings are nothing. Not wasting time...

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row

I sort of have an urge to shoot the Blurrah statue, but I have no idea what is going on, and figure Thurst knows better. :p

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row

Whoops myself. I suggest you guys inject poison into my skin, so that when the ratlings eat Thurst they will die as well. :p

    Ptolus: 165 Vock Row

Are there any math inclined religions in Ptolus? It occurred to me that 3:14 would be an amusing number/time to pray on. Although midnight might still be the best one. And yes, I am dragging my feet, but I think I've got time. Heck, none of our characters are going to survive long enough for it...
