Predict the Future: How will what we have today EVOLVE INTO 5th Edition?

I don't know but frankly I think that 4E will be the last edition that I am going to keep up with. Besides, December 21st 2012 will be the end of the world according to the Mayan Calendar and I don't see 5E coming out before then. :) On a serious note I'd like to see a separation of feats...

    D&D is awesome

Third party support products are AWESOME! Midnight is IMHO the AWESOME-EST of the AWESOME CAMPAIGN SETTINGS THAT ARE AWESOME! Skull & Bones was REALLY AWESOME! I'll go out on a limb and agree that 2nd Edition with the Players Option books was AWESOME! I'll go out on a really small and...

    Good Matrix RPG?

As a GM you can give roleplaying bonuses in any game. I am a huge fan of White Wolf's World of Darkness line, both old and new. Of all the systems I've played to date it seems to encourage actual real roleplaying over number crunching. The mechanic is simple to better keep the game rolling...

    Good Matrix RPG?

THANKS ALOT:rant: It looked so cool that I made an impulse purchase at Amazon. My wife is going to kill me. I won't be using it for The Matrix though. I've got my heart set on doing a sequel to Big Trouble in Little China.

    Good Matrix RPG?

HIT Marks are basically Terminators that are sent out to capture/kill Mages. Men in Black are just what you'd expect. They investigate "Reality Deviants" and either deal with the problem themselves or call in the heavy guns (like the HIT Marks above). They are more likely to capture and...

If D&D did not have HPs, how would you keep track of damage?

I don't really see it as the same. Typically everyone has the same number of "Squares" (in oWoD everyone had 7). In oWoD you didn't gain more as you "Level up". In nWoD you can gain more by purchasing a higher stat but you can't directly raise it except perhaps through the purchase of a...

    Keep on the Shadowfell Maps

Oops... Kinkos is just a copy shop. The can make any size of copies, signs, etc. Just use your sociogeneric equivalent. :)

    Good Matrix RPG?

I did it once with Mage the Ascension. Mage is about reality being maleable based on the will of the mage. Basically if you believe something strong enough you can make it happen. That fits neatly into The Matrix "There is no spoon" philosophy. The magic system is so fluid that you aren't...

If D&D did not have HPs, how would you keep track of damage?

Condition monitor like White Wolf uses in the new world of darkness. I like how it reflects degradation of ability when you get really hurt. I also like the Cyberpunk 2020 method where you make death saves and the amount of damage suffered (and the modifier to the death save) is modified by...

    D&D is awesome

I honestly don't know what my life would be like without D&D. It has been my primary leisure-time activity for the majority of my life. I got into it when I was 10 years old when my best friend gave the Mentzer Basic Set for my birthday and so it has consumed my weekends for the past 25 years.

    Any new settings for 4e?

I've decided that I don't really want a rehash of an old setting from previous editions. Has anyone heard of any new 4E specific settings coming down the pipe?

    Keep on the Shadowfell Maps

This tool is pretty cool too! I'm kinda glad I didn't buy the first 4 sets of Dungeon Tiles as I can print them out on my own cardstock whenever I want now. :) Dungeon Tile Mapper -- v1.2.0

    Keep on the Shadowfell Maps

I'm not sure. One of my players printed them on his industrial strength work printer. I'd take them to Kinkos and play around with the size until you get the right scale (1" squares). Each map takes several pages but we just keep some scotch tape at the table and my players assemble each one...

What is your general impression of RPGers? Forked Thread: WotC tryin to kill FLGS?

For the most part I have to agree with this assessment though I see more underweight players than overweight. :( I'd have to add unhygienic. Body odor and bad breath has kept me from returning to more than one LGS.

    Weakness by Edition

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who feels this way. While I can't say that I haven't been enjoying the game (I'm running my group through Shadowfell and we just started the 2nd level) it seems that all we do is set up one map, have a combat, set up another map, have a combat, repeat...

4E a good system base for a Tolkein RPG?

Really good question! Setting and theme are truely what make something LotR, Eberron, Forgotten Realms, etc. The setting isn't really swappable but you could do a LotR themed game (power corrupts) in another setting and stick with the races and classes built into the rules. I guess to have a...

When playing D&D I use battlemats...

My old answer would be always but I've since started using Dundjinni maps of my own and Campaign Cartographer maps that I've found online. Hand drawn maps are so last decade. ;)

Do you read RPG books all the way through?

To tell the truth the only RPG book that I ever read cover to cover was the original Nosferatu Clanbook for Vampire the Masquerade.

4E a good system base for a Tolkein RPG?

Personally I'd just stick with MERP. It is easy enough to find on EBay. :)

    Keep on the Shadowfell Maps

My group downloaded and printed these for our game and they were a HUGE timesaver (and they look really cool too). Thought I'd share them with the good folks of ENWorld. Keep on the Shadowfell battlemats - Cartographers' Guild Keep on the Shadowfell (2nd batch) battlemaps (6-8) -...
