What are the wierdest things you've learned gaming?

Well I told my players how a green dragon's breath weapon would probably kill someone (lungs would fill up with fluid). But I'm also the scientist amongst a bunch of non-scientists. Iocaine powder is colorless, tasteless, odorless and dissolves instantly in liquid. My group didn't understand...

Trying to recreate the Tanctanese from the movie/series Alien Nation...

A few other things. Sour milk gets them drunk and IIRC they don't mind eating severely rotten food. Saltwater isn't a poison but worked like acid on them. One was burned alive by the incoming tide (the mob killing) while Sam "George" Francisco (Mandy Patinkin) severely burnt his arm reaching...

    [Feb] What are you playing?

For the Emperor! Still playing Dawn of War. I just love that opening movie, especially when it turns into a slobberknocker about halfway up the hill. Too bad the Eldar and Chaos didn't get the same treatment.

    WB Toons of the Future...literately!!

I always liked the "Rabbit season!" "Duck season!" skit, the musical involving the Barber of Seville and the Anvil Chorus from Tiny Toons (I think Animaniacs did it too) but my all time favorite had to be Wile E. Coyote's attempts at catching the Roadrunner. I mean if he had enough cash to buy...

So long, and thanks for all the dinosaurs

Like Lay's Chips, Can't eat just one! Wait. Instead it was like Doritos (Jay Leno IIRC): Eat all you want. We'll make more. Now I'm hungry.

Legendary, Mythical and Iconic Monster Types

Nah. Zombies have a background in voodoo. Greater golems / animated statues, stone being Greek with metal being Arabian I guess (maybe a Harryhausen thing) Sea monsters Gazebos!

    Blue Rose at RPGNow

Personally, I see Blue Rose as being one step closer to the return of Dragon Fist, especially after reading '10 Things You Need To Know About Blue Rose'. Heck, that got me tempted to get it just to see what I could do with the basic stuff.

    anthropomorphic rpg

Of course. Unfortunately most of the players I game with didn't want to play a samurai bunny either. Ditto for kung fu terrapins. :( Oh, the Usagi Yojimbo RPG might help tho that's a slightly different genre (chanbara vs wuxia) but still anthropomorphic.

    anthropomorphic rpg

Here's a few things that might help: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness, out of print but there's bound to be some relatively cheap copies floating around. The mutation rules were IMO the funnest part of it. After The Bomb RPG is apparently the successor to TMNT (Palladium let...

Did he get promoted to General too?

    Why so anti-Palladium

Oddly enough of all the games to get me started in RPGs, it was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness. Maybe it was the simple pleasure of making a lil mouse into an 800 lb monstrosity if I chose to. Heck, back in HS, a friend and I considered making a wrasslin' league filled with...

    [Jan] What are you playing?

Since most of my friends seem to be suffering from the Blizzard Bug (World of Warcraft) and I'd rather spend that $15 / month fee on something else since my City of Heros timecard ranout, I ended up getting addicted to Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War after only 1 day. Heck, I stayed up til 5 am and...

Which animation style would you rather see in a D&D cartoon?

I'd have to put in a vote for some Chan-tastic animation like from Jackie Chan Adventures and The Batman followed closely by Disney's Gargoyles. However I'm also fond of the animation in the current TMNT cartoon as well as Megas XLR (both sorta anime-ish). There's also the cheesiness of Slayers...

    D&D 4E What I'd Like to See in D&D® 4e

Instead of the fire n forget system, how about a true spell point system similar to Elements of Magic so it's possible to alter make a spell's effects, making it weaker, stronger, etc.? Similarly make it more generic to simplify things kinda like how Savage Worlds does it (a short list of...

    WWE KNOW YOUR ROLE Demo

That sounds like something from the late Gorilla Monsoon, who I mainly remember for his "Stick a fork in him. He's done." as well as his pairings with Bobby "the Brain" Heenan, which later became Jerry Lawler / Jim Ross. My guess is has to do with Jim Cornett's habit of helping his team (Rock n...

    WWE KNOW YOUR ROLE Demo

"PUPPIES!" "Oh grow up! Those are gnolls!" "Well, not to say they're stupid but they've got an IQ of 2 and it takes 3 to grunt." "Maybe so King but the tag champs are about to get whipped like government mules. This is gonna be a real slobberknocker." *ground begins to shake as a T-rex stomps...

    Which is your favorite Hell?

The Hell of Being Cut to Pieces. The Chinese have a lot of hells. There's also the Hell of Boiling Oil. Just kidding. It's really a sign that says "Keep Out".

    Best fight scene?

Jackie was closer to the source material than the Street Fighter movie tho it had Cammy (Can't get her out of my head but I ain't doing the loco-motion). :p *ahem* Speaking of fighting games: Mortal Kombat had a few good ones like Johnny, Lui and Sonya vs the mooks, Lui Kang vs Reptile (the...
