D&D 4E What Campaign Settings would you like to see for 4e?

I'm running games set in Golarion, so it don't make no kind of difference to me. I'd think WOTC would be better off making all new settings. Fans of campaign settings like continuity. People who like continuity tend to hate retcons. New editions seem to bring retcons with them.

Is All Still Quiet on the SRD Front?

What? So does that mean we can start pestering people like Nick Logue and Mike Kortes for info on the 4e ruleset? Sucks to be them.

Is All Still Quiet on the SRD Front?

This is such a good point. I totally want 4.0 to be awesome. I want my whole group to like 4.0, absorb it, and have fun with it. But WOTC's recent questionable decisions (withdrawing licenses from good publishers, canceling Dungeon & Dragon etc..) and their horrible marketing (c'mon, that ze...

So what do you want to Run?

I want to run the kind of games I've always run; fast combats, feats of derring-do & whatnot, and heavy on the talking in character. Hopefully 4.0's rules will facilitate the kinds of games I like to run instead of hindering them.

Duergar: I'm shocked - a flavour change I really like!

Good change. Sounds like an improvement.

D&D 4E Top Ten Things I've Learned on the 4e Forum

Grognard, Fanboi, Sugarloafer, Munchkin, Railroady, Twink, Furry, Golden Wyvern Skeet, Dragon's Tail Cut Licker...ugh. I've learned that geeks should never be allowed to invent their own slang terms.

D&D 4E Top Ten Things I've Learned on the 4e Forum

    41. Whether I realize it or not, Dragonborn, Tieflings, and Eladrin have always existed in my homebrewed world. I just didn't see them before because I'm a grognard and I misplaced my bifocals while I was trying to kill D&D.

So... is anyone else coming around?

I'm still undecided, despite WOTC's best efforts to lose me as a customer.

So, what do you want to play?

Gnome Druid or Half Orc Bard.

POLL: Would you play D&D without a Skill System?

Common sense and DM Fiat are acceptable substitutes for a skill system in my opinion. Except for thieves. Thieves need to be able to succeed or fail based on the dice.

    Find the Anime Challenge

What I've learned from this thread, is that on the internet, even when presented with evidence to the contrary, people will declare their argument to be unassailably correct. I've learned that people will discount the opinions and positions of others without a second thought, and then blithely...

    D&D 4E Paizo and 4e.

One thing to consider: WOTC drops like 2 or 3 splatboks a month. There's no way a single player can run that many different characters with that many different character options in a given period of time. But players (specifically my players) still snatch em up like crackheads. Even if I say "No...

    D&D 4E Paizo and 4e.

True enough, as evidenced by the amount of peole who've pledged undying loyalty to a game system they haven't even seen yet. I wish gamers in general were a bit more discerning in their tastes. All we're showing WOTC with this attitude is that they don't need to work that hard for our dollars...

    So...this is the new Ettercap?:(

I think Hasbro was aware they'd sell less stuff during the edition transition. So they stuck all the doo-doo sculpts into this interim set. Yep, that's the impression that I get.

H2 name changed to 'Thunderspire Labyrinth'

Yuck. Another lousy name in a seemingly endless string of lousy names. They're really not selling me on 4.0.

Scott Rouse blog - Rogue ability

Wrong! 3e is broken and busted. The 4e designers said so. If you say you're players ever moved at all in a fight, or if you say grappling didn't make your entire gaming group fall to the floor, twitching spasmodically in their confusion, you must be lying.

Scott Rouse blog - Rogue ability

I feel the same. The vast majority of 4E news leaves me feeling cold. I'm sure I'll get jumped on for saying this, but the more I hear about 4.0, the more it seems like this the corporation mandated version of D&D. It's like the designers are building a marketing strategy instead of a game...
