Rant on Errata and what Wizards need to do to move forward.

Ah, I didn't even realize they'd put out young readers material, but I do see it on the product page now. Interesting! (Although it still leaves me wondering how it supports his point )

    Critique my D&D tool

You don't even have to print to PDF. When the printable sheet is rendered, every card is a separate png image. Just right click on the card(s) you want in your browser and copy or save the image, then place it in your document. :)

    Critique my D&D tool

Just wanted to keep echoing that this tool is awesome. I've already done up some 40-odd monster statblocks and 2 custom items with it for my campaign, and I'm sure will continue using a ton of it going forward. Keep up the good work! (And it was nice to meet you at PAX East!)

Comic books is the only thing I can think of that you'd be referring to, as you can't possibly be talking about the novels (which you've entirely overlooked anyway). My mistake for misunderstanding.

    Combat Timing and multi-attack powers

In which case I would say that the second attack simply fails to go off, as I don't allow Twin Strike to suddenly change targets if the first shot happens to drop something. To my mind, that kind of rapid action requires you to commit to your choice before it happens, not in the middle of it...

    Heroes of Shadow's Feat Preview

I wonder if perhaps Spectral Step was meant to be phasing instead of insubstantial. The name of the feat doesn't reconcile with its function in its current form...

Ninja-to, if you want to be upset, that's your perogative, but can you at least stop belittling an entire demographic by calling the comic books childrens books? There's a pretty big difference between the two.

Sure is mad in here; maybe we can address some of these points without getting emotional about it. Some people may have already covered a few of these. You know WotC is owned by another company, right? Hasbro vetoed the digital distribution because they were afraid it would wind up costing...

    Need Quest Ideas - Underdark

Hmm...can't come up with a lot that doesn't require some longer story threading, but here's two you should be able to just drop in with a little ironing. - Uncover a smuggling ring that operates out of the city, sending macguffins to other places where said macguffins shouldn't be - Stop a...

    Is Encounters dying?

There are at least three stores in the DC area that I know of that run it, all through the Gamers Syndicate organization: the two Game Parlor locations in Chantilly and Woodbridge, and Dream Wizards in Rockville. You can check March Gamedays - Game Parlor & Dream Wizards : Event Overview to see...

    How should feats work?

I play World of Warcraft in addition to tabletop games and one thing the developers have said often is that if you do this, you're also robbing players of meaningful choices. If you bury mechanically interesting feats behind mundane-but-flavorful ones, then you're going to inevitably compel...

    How should feats work?

I like a few conditional bonuses on my characters as they allow me to put a 'spin' on things. But if you add too many then it becomes cumbersome to remember all the conditions. So it needs to be a healthy mix of both; a few conditional bonuses so you can 'gimmick' your character in whatever way...

    Is Encounters dying?

You haven't been looking very hard then ;) I'm the DM at the Chantilly store and we've pretty consistently had at least one open seat for several months now. Come join us!

    Valorous Smite in 3-D

Seconding the idea that every square is a cube. A close burst 3 means you have 7x7x7 coverage, with some of those squares obviously extending beneath you.

Heroes of Shadow Table of Contents

Which has already been established: Every time a game element comes out that has the name of your class of preference on it, you've added support to those classes. Even the essentials books themselves do this.

Heroes of Shadow Table of Contents

Material that you may not use personally for your characters does as much to at least educate you on how it's used so you can best integrate with players who use those builds as you play. It's shortsighted to just treat the entire section as dead weight, especially if you DM ever in your career.

    Chessboard Puzzle Help

Something else to note is that with two unique solutions to the puzzle that lead to different places, you need to emphasize that somehow if you want them to find the vault. If they solve it and the path leads further into the dungeon, they'll never think twice about finding the other solution...

Heroes of Shadow Table of Contents

Not trying to be right, just frustrated with people taking the same broken-record, hard-lined stance as soon as the word Essentials comes anywhere around...particularly in a case where it isn't justified because the material in question clearly supports a lot more than Essentials. Sorry we...
