    Heroes of the Feywild Speculation

No, see, that's the thing -- the fact that they designed something you don't like doesn't mean they flipped the bird at you. It means "We're trying something new, let us know how you like it." Do you take it as a personal affront when all the news on TV isn't exciting or relevant to you as...

Game Mechanics of a creature surrendering

Theoretically it's a helpless target that can still be attacked, but I generally remove it from play so the players don't feel paranoid about it suddenly turning on them or something.

    What's changed?

Your irrational response to Essentials aside... In a word, yes. Most of the errata that has been applied in the last year has been to core books. Fighter, Warlord, and Cleric have all had a number of their spells and PPs fundamentally altered.

I don't know how to run lurkers

I might if I trust the player and there's no terrain hazards or other positional requirements, but for public games, no. I play the monster intelligence appropriately and generally just break off the hidden target unless the monster has some very specific reason to attempt pursuit.

    Charging through an ally?

No, you explicitly MUST count the absolute distance to target through blocking terrain and every square of movement must bring you closer radially. This clause is present precisely for the reason of preventing the "charge around the corner" tactic.

I don't know how to run lurkers

If the creature actually stealths and takes on the Hidden condition, then I remove the mini from the grid and leave no marker behind. People had best been paying attention when it was taken away if they want to know his last known position :D Note however that just vanishing doesn't...

    Cleric changes explained (Podcast)

And I don't think you'll convince anyone that a Templar is worth playing over a Warpriest, Marshal, or Shaman because all three of them provide enabling leader effects with virtually every action they take, while the Templar is wasting turns whiffing with Lance of Faith because he took Leader...

Help me polish my "Harassment" Swordmage?

Revised; the final stats are of course a bit off since the racial stat bonuses can't be adjusted yet, but the point buy is where it should be to make that happen. The replaced powers are Sword of Sigils, Vanishing Blade, Swordmage's Shielding Fire, Echoes of Sword Magic, Hellspike Assault...

Help me polish my "Harassment" Swordmage?

I had the white lotus stuff and stormsoul because it was initially a "striker" build; buffing up Booming Blade and daring monsters to violate it. The more I toyed with it though the more I liked this harassing concept more. I'll look at the other manifestations and drop the WL feats, for sure...

Help me polish my "Harassment" Swordmage?

I've started tooling with a Swordmage for LFR play, and thought I might share it here for feedback; for character concept, I consider her an arcane scholar who is highly attuned to and exploitative of Thunder/Lightning magics, being a Stormsoul Genasi...but having spent time in the City of...

    Are Superior Weapons "worth it"?

The point of the chart wasn't to say "Of course it's worth it, look at the DPR!!1!`one" but to show that, if increasing damage is something you're interested in doing, a superior weapon is one of the best returns for the investment you can make.

    Are Superior Weapons "worth it"?

There's an interesting chart in the Avenger's guide on the CharOp forums that breaks down the DPR increases of various feats at each tier: So while Weapon Focus scales in an absolutely linear fashion, getting higher weapon dice will almost always help you out more as you level up and get more...

Well, no; if my interpretation of @eamon is correct, neither of your proposed instances would allow the creature to know what will happen. The only time they get to know what happens is if the power says something like "If the target hits you while being watched, he takes damage equal to your...

Ah, I misunderstood your distinction then. I was still thinking in terms of reading a power block, and that the entire Effect line is known unless the Effect (or some part thereof) first requires a condition be met, in which case they don't know it until the condition is met, which would mean...

    Lightening Arc Feat - Warden

You've misread the feat's text. You're not dealing crit damage twice. Bold emphasis mine. It's also a paragon feat, and does require you to first roll a crit before you even get to make a decision, so it's not like you're going to run around blowing up whole encounters with it.

Well, no, that's exactly what I'm saying -- the person who is hit by Brash Assault immediately knows that if he takes this free swing, he should expect retaliation. To be (a little) clearer: Monster A is hit by a warlord with Brash Assault. Monster A immediately knows he has the option of...

    Marking

Okay, but in the case of Brash Assault, you've done exactly that; you've hit a monster, which immediately grants them the ability to hit you with an MBA with combat advantage. If they take the attack, they are going to get attacked in return. I'm not seeing where we're at odds on this. Of...

    What's changed?

This quote is incredibly misinformed. Have you ever actually played with any of the Essentials leaders, or just read about them? Because I can tell you right now that Sentinels are potent. And Warpriests aren't far behind, they fill the gap of what a Str cleric should have been in my...

    "Domination" Domination

I'm not sure how you can't envision D'artagnan in a duel turning to hit a passing enemy...it happens in the span of 6 seconds. We're talking a quick thrust and then back to his primary focus. Happens a few times even in the Musketeers movies! :p

Uh. While I understand your desire to retain narrative, that doesn't change the fact that creatures understand the full extent of a power's effects once they have been applied. If I have a monster that hits a PC with a power that says "If the target moves on their next turn, they take 1d6+4...
