Mutants & Masterminds 2e: What PL is Heroes?

    That doesn't seem strictly true.

    Excess Character Wealth CR Adjustment?

Give him harder encounters that are light on the physical loot (animals / beasts and mindless roaming creatures or constructs are good excuses for this). Reward the PC with intangibles until he catches up in level. Intangibles are things like favors, titles, reputation increases, that sort of...

    Fox stats

The Foxwere is a really nifty character option. It's also only LA+2. Problem is it's always Neutral Evil.

Is there some problem with the stats given in this thread?

    Fox stats

Thought about that, myself. My honest opinion is that it's too much of a pain to do, and most DMs have a problem with that book anyway. You might be better off with a shapeshifting fox type. Hengeyokai from Oriental Adventures is one option, as there are kitsune characters in there. Another...

    Fox stats

There are also fox stats in Dragon 291, page 49. Stats for dire foxes are included, as are the rules for fox familiars (they give +2 to the master's Reflex saves). Dragon's version: Fox: CR 1/4; Small animal; HD 1/2 d8; hp 2; Init +4 (Dex); Spd 40 ft.; AC 15 (+1 size, +4 Dex); Atk +1 melee...

    Epic Illithid Overlord Build

mrlost is going to be running his extremely fun epic-level D&D game again soon, wherein we take on the roles of mind flayer overlords sent by Ilsensine to the world of Oerth (Greyhawk) to take it over completely. We've landed (via spelljammer) in an area known as the "Caves of Chaos," which is...

OOTS 450 - Wands are for Suckers

I wouldn't be surprised if Belkar has Skill Mastery (Intimidate), just so that he can take 10 on it in battle.

    Spelljammer...just wow

I don't think TSR understood how much their customer base was uninterested in having their peas and carrots mixed together. I get the distinct impression that they were trying to sell a complete, holistic game setting where everything was interconnected... Witness stuff like this, Ravenloft's...

    Spelljammer...just wow

Because it's not to everyone's tastes. It's probably a little too "bizarre" for mainstream fantasy. Look at the number of folks who dislike monks as a class simply because they don't conform to their genre expectations, and then extrapolate that out to embrace a fantasy concept of dyson...

It's quite probably my favorite strip in the history of the comic thus far. And that's a long comic. (nearly 450 strips!)

What ever happened to spell research?

I'm just dumb or something, cause I can't find rules for spell research in the DMG. The closest I can find is the spell design guidelines on page 35. While those are useful for introducing spells into a campaign, they don't tell you how a PC researches them. Where's the goods?

There is absolutely nothing wrong with having a morbid sense of humour. I found it funny, too. And I know we're not alone.

Thing is, his impressiveness here isn't by measure of his power, but by his flair for the dramatic. He's just having some fun. The strip isn't supposed to make you go, "Whoa, Xykon is one badass liche!" He could've wiped out that group of paladins much easier. Nobody's debating that fact...

I agree wholeheartedly, save for the disturbing part. This strip was hilarious. The gleeful, crazy-eyed look the paladins had while hacking each other apart was priceless. Plus, it's a super bouncy ball! :D

For some reason I think "have some fun" doesn't mean a direct attack on the throne room. Maybe some villainous taunting, or a hit and fade, or... I dunno, something else. I could be wrong, though.

What do you think of Modrons?

Modrons are the coolest thing in and about D&D, period.
