    Adventure Writing Tips (Part 2)

Like most things, you can take what you like and get rid of the rest. My interest was piqued in the format due to the fact that 95% of financially successful films use the 2-goal format.

    House Rule for Stunning

I was thinking about this last night, and I agree. Stunning is normally the only way to get rid of a sustained ability.

A Good Introductory Adventure for Young Players

Anything from the Chaos Scar would be good I think.

New monster damage expressions - What do they mean for the game?

For normal monsters and at will attacks, maybe. But for Brutes and limited attacks, even the +1/2 per level damage isn't enough.

New monster damage expressions - What do they mean for the game?

Can you elaborate on this? What exactly is the issue that you're having?

Planning to do the Tomb of Horrors...

I don't think we're talking about the same adventure. There was a free RPGday conversion of the original Tomb. There is also a super-adventure version that was just released to premiere stores (and released worldwide in a week).

    First Dark Sun Excerpt!!!

You notice that they've switched the previews up so that they end when the product is released for the preimere stores, not the general release?

    House Rule for Stunning

I'm starting to like the idea of turning Stunned into something like: Stunned: You are Dazed. You have a -4 to all defenses. Possibly also You are Slowed. Possibly also You are critically hit on a 18-20. Possilby also You have a -2 to attack rolls. This has the advantage of...

Planning to do the Tomb of Horrors...

I already have it, and I'm planning on starting it next Friday.

Tomb of Horrors, Demonomicron, and more @ Premiere FLGS

Some early observations from reading Tomb of Horrors. It includes several options for making the adventure more 'deadly', though one of them, dropping the level of the PCs to 8th-9th instead of 10th, would just make the adventure longer without substantially increasing the lethality of the...

New monster damage expressions - What do they mean for the game?

I've been railing about monster damage ever since my PC's hit Paragon...especially typed damage.

Tomb of Horrors, Demonomicron, and more @ Premiere FLGS

Just picked up Tomb of Horrors. Poster map: Yes. Looks like a cavern of some sort, but not sure what's on the other side. Encounters: 45, give or take. The chapters begin at 10th, 14th, 18th, 22nd, though it recommends starting at lower levels to make it more of a challenge. Yes, there...

    Monster Challenge: Build a Cthulhu

It's quite excessive actually. If I recall correctly, not only is it a Lvl 35 Solo Soldier (with all the defensive craziness that implies), but it also has a power that gives a -5 to attacks.

Advanced Player's Handbook coming out in 2011?

He's my second favorite artist now. Elmore's #1, but only because of nostalgia. :-)

Heck, Lolth can do 50 ongoing damage now.

"Not 4.5" is coming soon. Thoughts?

I've been thinking this would be the case for awhile. Eventually they'd probably go back and tweak the PH1 and MM1s to account for the lesson's they've learned, but the framework they have in 4e is solid and much like say, MSDOS, there is going to be a lot of inertia to overcome to...

    General Monster Manual 3 Thread

There are some great monsters from BECMI, and I'm glad they're starting to tap into those. Where's my Brain Collector though? :-)

Would you repurchase MM1 and MM2?

The shame is that so many of the 'core' classes, monsters, races, etc don't get the benefit of 2 years worth of massive public playtesting...
