I second this reading. Magic resistance is referenced several times in the MM as matching the AG description. The wording on A5e.tools is weird.

Yeah, the designer part of my brain says +3, but the grammarian part says +6. I think this could have been avoided by simply saying “You gain an expertise die which increases your passive by 3.”
