    If RPGs were cars, mine's a . . . ?

Mine would be a tank, with a telekinetic forklift that could flip cars on the freeway in front of me up into the air, which would then be blown up by the tank's rocket pods....uh, maybe this is the wrong fantasy vehicle thread.

    Obscure demon lords

Aldinach was written up in Gary Gygax's Necropolis mega-adventure. I think if you comb the text you might find another mention of a forgotten demon lord, but maybe it was a devil. As pointed out the Gord novels have some mention. I suspect some of the names are also mentioned in passing...

    Has anyone used Herolabs

I'm going to be using an NPC in a friend's Pathfinder game next week and he sent me a copy in email and the character sheet must be from Hero Lab, due to the logo up at the top. It looks nice and it would probably be a good thing to use considering I haven't read Pathfinder rules from cover to...

Dragon's 35th Birthday, which one is your favorite?

I do love #100 since it had that cool adventure plus the embossed cover. #200 had a hologram on the cover and was extra big, but I can't for the life of me tell you what articles are inside.

    Getting Attaached to Your Character

The longer the character's story gets told, the more likely I'll get attached. 1st level characters don't matter so much. But sometimes events in the game make a character stand out. I played a CoC game at KublaCon and even though it was a one shot, I'd play that character again if I was...

    Area 51 Previously Unreleased Photos

Saw the photo. Looks very much like an SR-71, so I see why it would be released, nothing new, except maybe the shiny skin.

Dragon's 35th Birthday, which one is your favorite?

I think the first Dragon I bought was #96. It was an April Fools issue and had the Quazar dragon, I think. Many other favorite early articles came from Best of Dragon. I remember bringing one to pre-calculus class, it had an article on tesseracts and the teacher had said we'd get extra...

    Flames And The Undead

You could make it both, but generally it is the fire that burns and does the damage. Of course some undead, like the effigy are immune to fire.

The Crypt Thing - ever used/experienced one?

Being such an old and cool monster, if a little weird for the traditional hack and slash dungeon adventure, I'm sure we encountered one at some point, but they aren't as memorable as watching spells bounce off a death knight and getting hit with a 20d6 fireball or wondering if the skeleton is a...

    Gaming Group Turns 29 !

I wish I could remember how long I've been playing. I know I started in the 80's and I was in middle school, but I just don't remember which grade I was in. I certainly don't have a gaming group that old. I have friends I've been gaming with since about 1999, but that ain't quite as long as...

    PC on PC Action

We've come close to it in our Apocalypse World sessions, but so far no direct smacking around or shooting has occurred between players. We have tried to influence the actions of each other through Manipulate or Seduce, the social conflict resolution mechanic, but no fighting yet. I think the...

Boxes from boxed sets: amount of use determines condition?

This seems like a pretty obvious question and conclusion, but I put it out there for fun. I dug out my old Cyberpunk boxed set from storage last week, the 1988 version from R. Talsorian. The box contained 3 books and was twice as deep as it needed to be to hold the contents. The books may as...

Good to see my original question continues to be ignored. Consistency is a virtue.

    Do you remember this spell?

If any of the already mentioned spells don't fit exactly, you might want to look in 2 books from 2E. One had Volo in the title I think and the other was a spell collection from Pages from the Mages of user written spells. I can't dregde up the exact name for either product form the corners of...

    D&D: Daggerdale

I was interested when I got the spam from Atari but then remembered if it was based on a rule set it would be 4E. If 4E is really too video gamey as some say, wouldn't it be better? The comments on that review seem to from the same 3 or 4 people talking to each other. What do other reviews...

    OotS #792 us ip!

OotS #792 us ip! U.S. intellectual property? Kidding. Probably the cat survived because it was a hand crossbow, they are notoriously bad at inflicting damage above a 1 in my experience.

Healthy snacks & drinks for gaming?

Anybody know if wasabi peas are healthy? We sometimes have some while gaming, usually boardgaming. Usually snacks we eat are dependent on the group I'm playing with. My older friends would have chips and other typically "bad" stuff, but now we are more likely to have veggies and hummus.
