I haven't actually run enough dragons yet to get a feel for the accuracy of their CR. The one I did run could easily have murdered the entire party, but it was CR 7 vs. a 4th level party, so it wasn't exactly a balanced encounter to start with.

I'm not super fond of the art for the dragonorb. It looks more-knick-knack and less crystal-ball.

On the other hand, Crothian, it did get me to at least google the system since it isn't one that has crossed my radar yet.

As a side note, whenever I think of cantrips I think of a scene early on in the movie Dragonslayer. There is a book on a table, and the wizard gestures and the book slides to him. Even in 2nd edition, I gave wizards unlimited uses of the cantrip spell for minor "flavorful" effects of that nature.

I feel like we're neglecting the fact that the warlock can toss in a 3rd level spell (for instance), and the cleric can toss in an emergency cure wounds or two. (Or whatever) A party with multiple casters can give non-casters (or limited spellcasters) a lot of additional options.

Yes, you have to be attuned to use the spells stored in the ring. But the entry specifically calls out that ANYONE can cast a spell while touching it in order to store a spell. It doesn't need to be the attuned owner.

How large of a town is it? That might have some bearing on demographics later. % of population that are magic users, etc. Could impact the continual flame street lights issues and such.

Sentinel fighter with a 5th level version of Armor of Agathys? It's the target: self spells that I think could really make this ring interesting.

Away from book, but do we have an order of operations for bonus stacking? IE, multiples before additions, etc.?
