I've never seen this movie, but just reading your description I have to say that this seems like a retelling of Lucifers story from the bible, obviously from a more sympathetic point of view.
I ran a minion heavy game, to keep it interesting I made a little sub mechanic. I used zombie mini's (from the board game). If you did 10 or more damage the minion was killed, less than 10 damage I replaced the mini with a red headed mini and on the next hit it was dead (used a sharpy to red...
I agree, I think the right way to go about something like this is to start the campaign with an adventure that is a railroad, that sets the PC's against barksdale's crew. This would be short, just something to give them a reason to hate the guys. A fellow detective and friend is found dead...
I think this is great, but your missing one thing, the phrase "powerful tool". I got an Ipad a month ago and I have spent many an hour looking through apps, and one universal thing that all utility type apps have in common is that they are all described as "powerful tools". I think it's in the...
Not sure how much this is worth to you but in my experience playing 4e rogues are the worst of strikers as far as damage output. Only a drow rogue build comes close to the damage that say a sorcerer can put out. If your DM hampers you with sneak attack then your build becomes crippled.
Don't have time to read your PDF at the moment, but this is something my group has tinkered with before, and I've kept an eye out for threads about it. So here is my input
I like the classes from d20 modern, however, from what I've seen, most people don't. Not sure how much you want to tinker...
I am not familiar with warhammer world so I don't know anything about the "morals" of it, but I have to say that giving you a character to play that is described as a "thief with no parents and struggling to survive, covered in rags" the ONLY sane expectation is for you to steal stuff. I mean...
I once rand a campaign in 2e in the red steel setting. The entire land was affected by a curse, this is part of the published setting, and in the book it described how this curse came about, a three fold thing involving multiple gods and a forgotten race. It gave a very brief idea of how a...
"How Many Times". it's at the end of the song. From Great Milenko.
and yes, I had to look that up, I am no longer down with the clowns till I'm in the ground
call it "Juggalo Bite" and think of the intro to that one ICP song where the kids talks about "I killz cats all... day... long.". It would be perfect for him, cats are small creatures, he apparently needs to kill them, the name fits his favorite band.
I feel terrible that I know this. I...
Man, I had forgotten about that. You could start a thread just about crappy moves that movies were completely based around, like that one highlander movie where it all revolved around him stealing a dudes sword and killing him with it in one move.
But back to the topic: my favorite movie daily...
I'm not saying your wrong, but handling it that way seems like it would only get more complicated. For instance: what about the rest of the party? If their friend ends up in jail they might want to break him out, especially if he has a valuable item the party needs. Or what are they going to...
I agree with this wholeheartedly. RPG's are a social activity, and when someone is about to screw up everyone's fun then that person is being selfish. If you were all deciding which movie to watch everyone wouldn't go along with a movie only one guy wanted to see, and the same should go with...
My feeling on railroading has evolved over the years. I think it comes down to the DM and his level of work.
If I write a detailed plot for an adventure, using up a lot of my spare time, then I think I have a right to "railroad" the PC's in a way that keeps them from wasting the effort I put...
I have to say this is really cool. I love this kind of stuff, and I have a friend who wanted to do something similar, but he didn't want to put in the effort. Good job man, it all works and looks really good. Did you worry about tracking bullets and ammo?
I applaud you sir, good form!
If only this were available 6 months ago, we might not have stopped playing 4e. We considered doing the type of thing you are doing, but we tried that with 3e and found it took too much time to get it right. Glad to see someone out there is dedicated. If I knew...
dungeon mapp looks good, but wow it's pricey... whoops, I was thinking of battlemapp, and cartographer looks more useful, just from what I've read. I'm surprised to hear you say that about DM toolkit, which looked great. I'll start with pdf reader
