What is Roleplaying like to you?

Well I voted social even AND other. OF course one of the best aspects of gaming is its social aspect, I’ve been lucky to spend all these years gaming with friends (either from outside the gaming circle or forged at the table) and meeting up with them and catching up on how our week is going is...

Stats, how you come about it!

Ok, here is the method I use. But first the caveat, I’m not math wiz, and this simply evolved out of a suggestion I read (in this forum I believe!) and I’ve used it for my last campaign. Everyone rolls 4D6, dropping the lowest die, eight times. They can discard ANY two rolls, if the sum of...

    Mystery creature near San Antonio

I second the motion… I want to see the Pikachupacabra, so get sculpting. On a side note, back when the chupacabras thing started here in the island you could find t-shirts with a cute little grey, with spines and wings, bloodsucker. Hasta luego, Sunglar

    Mystery creature near San Antonio

Puerto Rico’s own Mammalian Mangler Ah, it warms my heart when one of our own native myths takes off in such a way. See, I’m from Puerto Rico, and the chupacabras has its origins in the island since the first 1995 attributed mutilations. True that these days they seem to have gone...

Looking for a half-elf, or elf template

KaeYos, in this homebrew I’m working on right now (which will probably see no use for at least two years, but I do like to give myself a head start) the elves can produce offspring with ANY creature… It’s more a magical ability, not actual copulation with the different creatures.

Looking for a half-elf, or elf template

Thank you all… I’ve had a great laugh! I’m looking into this and if I write anything definite I’ll post it on the house rules for your opinions. Ciao, Sunglar

Looking for a half-elf, or elf template

Ok let me rephrase… I realize the first post might be too general. I like the Elf and Half-Elf in the PHB. However I am creating a campaign where elves can “pass on” their heritage to any living creature, and I was trying to come up with the half-elf as a template, that can be added to OTHER...

Looking for a half-elf, or elf template

Fellow gamers… I seem to recall seeing a half-elf template, I don’t know if it was on this board or somewhere else. I’m looking for a half-elf, or elf template, preferably ECL 0. Anybody know of such a thing? Thanks in advance… Sunglar

    Popular Campaign Settings

I cannot believe it is NOT in the list, Mystara, i.e. the Known World, not so much the 2nd Ed material but the original Gazetteer.

    Cut-scenes?

Dreaded Beast… I personally LOVE Cut Scenes, we used to call them cutaways. I got the idea form the first edition SW game form West End Games. My players were of different opinion, the majority loved it, a couple did not care either way and I had one hard-core hater. He would step out of the...

    Here Comes the Jury!

I voted no… Paladins are tough characters to play and appropriate challenges for the character should include though moral choices and situations in which good judgment should come into play. Having said that, the encounter with the child molester seems simple enough and (sorry for implying...

D&D Urban Legends: I new this guy who...

Well I heard many of the stories you mention here, in one form or another. Sometimes when I hear the horror stories from their youth from other players I feel blessed. I grew up in a home the SUPPORTED my hobby and encouraged me to use my imagination. My D&D Basic red box with the Elmore art...

Question about the Domain Wizards in Unearthed Arcana

Thank you all for the input, I’ll go over to the Rules Forum and look at that thread. I am putting together version 2.0 of my current campaign and I’m deciding which variants form UA to use. I may use the Domain Wizards for powerful nation where Wizards rule, vs. the less powerful regular...

Question about the Domain Wizards in Unearthed Arcana

I have a question for which I’ve been unable to find the answer (ok I might have not looked hard enough, but with the little time I have… Getting off track here!). The Domain Wizard variant on page 57 of the Unearthed Arcana book seems like a pretty interesting idea. I realize that it spells...

What day(s) of the week do you game?

I for one play Tuesdays. I used to play various days a week when I was in high school, and early college. I eventually settled on one quality day a week, I ONLY DM and I think that was the best option to offer a quality experience to my players. Originally we began playing Wednesdays, and...

    Dawnforge question!

Sorry to bother you all, but a good friend bought Dawnforge this weekend, and he seems to recall someone saying it had a map stuck inside, like they do with the maps in Dragons magazine. Well does it? His did not have a map, but it did have a suspicious stand of the sticky thing (for lack of a...

My wife is making her first character (a work in progress)

Hello all… I lurk around here more than I post, and I’ve never shared anything too personal, but something happened today that has inspired me to share it with like-minded folk. My wife of five years, and on and off girlfriend of three before we got married, picked up dice tonight for the...

poll: What has most influenced your conception of fantasy?

My big influence… I replied “Other”, because (for better or for worse) my biggest influence when I was young and creating my concept of fantasy was Dragonlance, specifically the Chronicles trilogy. Curiously I had read JRR Tolkien before but for my pre teen mind frame they all seemed too…...
