Trying again: What would it take to get _you_ to use core only?

Errr, well, since I usually play core-only already, I suppose I can't answer your poll. :D

Epic Problem : Return to Power

Salarassa ducks and weaves through a nest of wrestling demons and angels and other unsavory types in the air, smoothly avoiding the occasional detonation as a Solar beheads a Balor. Once in the air above the Gateway, he dives towards it, sliding into the quicksilver portal seamlessly.

    Mages vs Clerics

Hmm, in such a situation, I'd give it to the cleric. That fight would go down to summons and HP, both of which goes to the Cleric.

The Rod of Seven Parts: Lanai Team OOC

Ok, updated Wyleck, but only cause I'm stuck at work. :D Oh, hey CB, would the Spontanious Healer from Complete Divine feat be ok for me to take eventually, seeing as how it looks like I'ma be our dedicated healer?

[LANAI] The Rod of Seven Parts: Into the Crucible

Wyleck, not being much of the searching type, tries to aid Arden by pointing out interesting nooks and crannies.

Epic Problem : Return to Power

Salarassa shrugs. "As you wish milady." Salarassa speaks a few arcane intonations and rises into the air, Flying towards to gateway into the prime. He reasons that the fewer obstacles aloft should allow him to avoid trouble, and anyone who would naturally seek to prevent his usage of the gateway...

[LANAI] The Rod of Seven Parts: Into the Crucible

"I don't think we've explored the southeastern portion of the chamber. We should do that first." says Wyleck, as the flames on his hands gutter out.

    Prep time for spells

In situations like this, I pretty much ignore RAW, and ask myself "Would it be horribly unbalancing if I didn't make him sit and meditate an extra 15 minutes? No? Then I'll ignore it, thank you." While technically, a wizard/cleric does need to memorize for an hour, and pray for an hour, do you...

Epic Problem : Return to Power

"Actually, I've a contact on the prime that might be able to assist us. He's a bard of some repute who's been around for a while. If anyone can track down the seven quickly, it'd be him." says Salarassa as he begins leading his compatriots through the outskirts of the crowd. "And I agree about...

The Rod of Seven Parts: Lanai Team OOC

Heh, sorry. I'm nearing the end of a writing contract, so I've gotta push about 150 pages out by the end of the month. This leaves me a wee bit scatterbrained :D

Epic Problem : Return to Power

Salarassa leaned up against a pillar beyond the massed beings that surrounded the breach. He did not trust these men who shared purpose with him, any more than he trusted that they would trust him. It was a paradox of sorts, that the mad and evil powers would work with nearly anyone, without...

[LANAI] The Rod of Seven Parts: Into the Crucible

Wyleck raises an eyebrow, "Hey, no need to be snooty to us just cause yer in a bad mood. Lets see if we can find where these fellas are running off to. We've only been up an hour yet, and frankly, I'm just not ready for another nap."

[LANAI] The Rod of Seven Parts: Into the Crucible

"We've no idea of their intentions for good or ill, so lets just agree to give any sentient creatures a chance not to fight from now on, eh?" says Wyleck as he looks over the fallen slime-men. He nudges them over, looking for money pouches and the like.

    Golems immune to detect magic?

As a point, I tend to let Detect Magic be useful for things like this. The group already suspects the statues to be golems, or they never would have asked in the first place. Go ahead and give it to them for keeping on their toes. Is it really going to hurt the encounter if you don't?

[LANAI] The Rod of Seven Parts: Into the Crucible

Wyleck sidesteps to get a better bead on the third slug, and launches another stone at him to keep him distracted from stabbing Yssal.

    Epic problem OOC

I'm 99% done I think, though I would like to check complete scoundrel tonight to be sure (picking it up on my way out tonight), just in case there is a nifty feat I might want to use. Alas, there is not. Consider me finished.

[LANAI] The Rod of Seven Parts: Into the Crucible

"What, we're not allowed to even TRY to be civil?" asks Wyleck peevishly as he launches a stone from his sling. "Go on Yssal, give these rapscallions what for!"
