Why I will go to DDI

I think this could backlash more than WOTC or gamers think. Players not buying rule books is bad for game stores and its bad for the gather around the living room/ game table experience. Personally I think the buy the book and unlock the online version is overall better and a smarter business...

    Rogue: 6 skills or 10?

Something else to keep in mind, characters get many more feats in 4e. Likely, they will have one every other level. Also, I am sure characters get more skills as they level too. If either or both of these assumptions are true, then you are going to find it easy to increase characters skills...

Love the Game, Hate the Marketing

I think the key reason this did not occur with the OGL like it does with open source software is that you can not easily update a published book like you can a program. For the OGL to truely work, you would need the best rules to gather in a centralized place that the majority of the players are...

WotC_PeterS: Class Names| NEW: Rouse-ist parts of PHB

To you 3.x isn't broken. I understand that. But, to new players who won't play it because of barriers to entry (mountains of books, difficult to DM, complicated character creation options, counter intuitive sub systems like turning and grappling) the game was needing fixing. D&D 3.x started...

The Devil's in the Details: Slavicsek reveals the Pit Fiend in all its glory

Editors tighten up good writing and make it better. I would say it is bad writing and bad editing. The writer should clean it up as much as possible before it ends up on the editors desk. I guess that is what happens if you pay per submitted word as opposed to actual printed.

Are you excited about the Forgotten Realms setting changes?

I understand the way you feel as how they've portrayed the 4e realms so far. Wait until they put the book out and then flip through it. Judge it fully then. It is still possible it will look and feel like the realms. I think they can still pull it off if they tribute the current setting, its...

Are you excited about the Forgotten Realms setting changes?

They probably play D&D then already, or stopped because all of their friends no longer play. 13 year olds goto school, meet friends and have free time to play D&D. They need them more.

Are you excited about the Forgotten Realms setting changes?

D&D needs 13 year WOW players as much as it needs 28 year old DMs. The 13 yearold players grow up into 28 year old DMs and give D&D a broader market and a future as a product, instead of it going the way of the buggy whip.

Are you excited about the Forgotten Realms setting changes?

Ok, lets take that one step of a time and paint the big picture. 1) The first barrier to entry is awareness of the potential players of what D&D is, this spreads best through word of mouth and actually playing. 2) To get those people to play, you have to simplfy complicated areas of the game...
