Ben Riggs: 'The Golden Age of TTRPGs is Dead'

MY two cents: D&D ain't dying anytime soon, nor is the TTRPG medium itself. I COULD see OneD&D not doing super gangbusters due sheer apathy. "Why do we need this? The one we have is basically the same, anyway." I DO hope some of the 5E clones give it a run for its money, though. But, again...

Ben Riggs: 'The Golden Age of TTRPGs is Dead'

How are they taking to 4E? I'm curious to see what a group without any of the usual bias thinks about it.

And was then saved by her Chekhov's Gunman girlfriend-turned-nanite-blob. With them both running off for off-scene adventures like Clara did. We haven't had a companion full-on DIE in a while, have we? Not like Adric or Peri, anyway.

Most iconic Rogue/Mage I know is Imoen from Balder's Gate 1-2.

Outside a few N64 games: Turok 1-3 and Shadow Man. They don't own Turok, anymore. Dynamite has him, now.

    D&D General D&D Loyalty?

I'm not married to Fifth Edition or ANY one game. Mainly because I never have a chance to PLAY any of them, so I'm not sure which I could hold up as MY main game. B/X (OSE version) and BRP are the two major options, while a number of smaller darkhorses sit on the sidelines (2400, Double D6...

D&D General Tech in DnD; What should be included and how much is too much? (+)

Oh, no. I can't find a group to save my life. But I presume you could twist the DMG firearms and the vehicles rules into something approximating the 1930s. I'm also looking at Old-School Essentials as a fallback incase Wizards goes COMPLETELY off the Lighting Rail and guess what got a...

Doctor Who Ncuti Gatwa Xmas Special & s1

What exactly was wrong with Idiot's Lantern? Beyond Tommy reconciling with his abusive father near immediately, I do agree there.

D&D General Tech in DnD; What should be included and how much is too much? (+)

I presume many folks hear "guns in D&D" and start imagining SEAL Team Six packing M16s and frag grenades, breaching-and-clearing the Tomb of Horrors like they're playing Modern Warfare 2. For my two cents: I'm either a dieselpunk, "interwar period with magic", guy (Eberron with more...

    R. Talsorian Games Announces Shadow Scar

So, Feng Shui-esque, just with a Japanese-focused multiverse replacing the Chinese-focused time-gate network. Can definitely see some obvious Korra influences, as well. Looks promising.

    R. Talsorian updates on Cyberpunk RED, The Witcher, and a new secret project

Agreed, though many skills (like Accounting, Anthropology, Photo & Film, Personal Grooming/Wardrobe & Style, etc.) can likely be relegated to an appendix. Options are good, but too much of a good thing can be overwhelming.

D&D General US Postal Service Releases D&D Stamps

These gave me a weird thought. Was Playing by Post (as in "By PHYSICAL Post") ever a thing? If so, how well did it work? I know many folks STILL play Chess by mail (the US Chess Fed. even sells postcards.). These seem like the perfect stamps for that use case, if it actually exists.

Adventure Time TTRPG Drops "Yes And" System, Switches To 5E

Player's Guide made Best Electrum Seller on DTRPG. Alien Archive (Monster Manual) and "The Keys of Scaravore" made Copper. No idea on physical sales, though. I'm surprised the Manual did worse, I presumed more people were going brag this to throw Daleks and Weeping Angels at their Forgotten...

Adventure Time TTRPG Drops "Yes And" System, Switches To 5E

Shame, but the other versions AREN'T outright cancelled, at least. I DO agree that 5E isn't the BEST choice for the setting, but I'm still willing to give it a chance.

D&D General Dark Places & Demogorgons for OSE: An Interview with Eric Bloat

I'm getting the PDF of this, soonish. I agree with everyone else; it feels like a perfect match. Shame reviews seem to be thin on the ground. Anyone whose read "DP&D for OSE": does it account for the optional Ascending Armor Class rules or does it assume you're using THAC0?

Official Adventure Time RPG Uses New 'Yes And' System

Shame, but the other versions AREN'T outright cancelled, at least. I DO agree that 5E isn't the BEST choice for the setting, but I'm still willing to give it a chance. The preview/cross-promo is cute, too. I'm always a sucker for the old TSR trade dress. Shame I'm saving for Holiday gifts or...
