    Do YOU nod to "realism"?

I agree---but I've long since reconciled powers like "Come and Get It" as a granting a tiny bit of narrative control to the player using it. Rather than 'taunting' oozes and zombies, perhaps the fighter is predicting a group of opponents will move into such a way that he can punish them for...

D&D 4E What are the best 4e Modules?

Gardmore Abbey really was a wonderful investment. Lord of the White Field is fun and creepy.

    D&D 4E Reply if you love 4e

Love it. I've played every version of the game (even a summer of OD&D years after it was superseded), and I consider 4e as much *real* D&D as every previous edition. Played through 75% of the Nentir Vale adventure path, DMed the entire Scales of War (1-30), and I'm currently running a homebrew...

Does anyone want to talk about D&D?

This Sunday will be our last D&D session, as the Platinum Vanguard will finally face Tiamat after two years and 30 levels. Good game, guys. Good game.

    Your DDI Account Status

Current subscriber, and will remain so until we no longer play D&D. And with the announcement of the VTT, I may be a D&D player longer than I expected to be. So yeah. Satisfied customer.

I like it. We just need some character sharing and I'm all set. edit: ugh---silverlight? Looks like I'll have to keep my XP-compatibility mode version of Firefox around a while longer. :(

Why all the brouhaha about the Essentials?

Man, with all that Red Text, I thought this was a far more interesting thread than it turned out to be. Nice Bluff check.

Countdown to Essentials - Powers, implements, feats

Speaking for my group? If Essentials is really good (and all signs point to Yes at the moment), then we'll start a new heavily Essentials influenced campaign. If Essentials isn't so good, however, we'll proceed as normal and just use the bits we like.

New "Red Box" Starter Set hands-on preview

Okay, this is quite literally the coolest thing I've seen in 4e. If Essentials can bring this level of awesome with nothing more than a couple of keywords and a badass description? SOLD.

    Will Essentials do well?

Three previews were sufficient to make me want to buy Essentials. The fourth preview made me want to make our next game Essentials ONLY.

A simpler option for 4e players? Thief and Knight FTW!

Campaign Choices You've Made On Races

None---all races are available (assuming they are from a PHB or from a Dragon article). No MM races, but if you want to reskin a halfling as a goblin or kobold (for example), go for it.

D&D 4E How have PCs died in your 4e games?

We've played the Scales of War path from level one, and to date only three PCs have died: all in a single encounter (They were all turned into elemental goo at the end of Beyond the Mottled Tower).

The Dark Sun Weapon Breakage Rule - How do you feel about it?

We just played the Free RPG Day Dark Sun Adventure (Bloodsand Arena). Two players rolled 1 on attacks, but neither took advantage of the breakage rule. I asked why, and they both said that they didn't want to lose their weapon. Old habits die hard, I guess.
