Pyior abashedly mentions, "Erm, I just gave all my rations away."

The beholder used to be able to fire all it's eyes upwards in 3.0. That text is no longer in there for 3.5. The only caveat is that all the eyes have to be fired at the same time so the beholder would have to position himself so enemies are all around him.

Very cool stuff. So what did you think of the arc as a whole? Is it definitely worth continuing? And hey, I wouldn't call the Aubrey/Maturin series boring. :) I read the first 10 myself years ago long before the movie.

Currently on The Golden Age by John C. Wright. Impressive stuff dripping with ideas on each page -- it's hard at time to wrap your head around what's happening. I did have a bit of trouble getting into it but past pg. 100 or so it's been smoother reading.
