I have to say, it was something irritating in an otherwise very cool book. Simple solution, though. I am letting all those spells be Wiz/Sor spells, because some of them are just too cool to let go.

I would say the "Get the Edge" was against any foes your character encounters, not the other characters. And BECAUSE of good game balance, any "edge" you get is illusionary at best. The monsters will still be as tough as the DM makes them. It isn't, after all, a video game with "cheat codes". ;)

The storytelling aspect of D&D grew out of the combat/monty haul aspect. It will do so again. New players, young players, want to feel the thrill that us oldsters felt when first chopping a kobold into itty-bitty pieces and taking his 3 gold pieces. Let them. Well, my group and I played D&D 3.5 in Eberron this past Friday night, and we had a lot of fun. We used miniatures, AoO, Feats, and everthing! (Heck, we even role-played a little) And there's nothing you can do to stop us! Bwahahaha! :]

All you have to do is go to http://www.rpg.net and click on the RPG store. Look for the minis. Every time a set comes out, within a week they are selling individual ones. I have a rather huge collection myself, and use them all the time in the RPG. I make sure and get duplicates of bugbears...
