BTW, I've been meaning to ask. Is there anything we can do to help with the SRD effort? I have some coding skills and "boring data entry" skills. If I can chip in let me know. I know that often it's more of a hassle than a help to try and coordinate such assistance for a project of this size...

The rules could be read to say that you can do three thinks: jump, slip, or fall. Also the sentence is only telling you what happens when someone jumps instead of doing X. That in no way means that doing X is the only other possibility.
