Worlds & Monsters -- I has it, too!

No mention of Sigil, but the quote 'a nexus for planar travels' (note they did not state 'THE nexus') made me draw the parallel. And its does state that the Great Wheel is dead, so I expect Sigil will go with it. Far Realms: abberants come forth when the Far Realms touch the world. Most can't...

Worlds & Monsters -- I has it, too!

A few answers while I take a intermission from Dead Man's Chest... My bullet points on the Shadar-Kai served to miss the whole dynamic between them and the raven Queen. They feared death, so made their 'immortality' pact with her. Then they realized nothing is worse than fading to nothingness...

Worlds & Monsters -- I has it, too!

[OT] No prob...I didn't take it wrong. This won't be my first trip to the sandbox; I'd previously heard about allied troops not getting the same bennies as us... that's unfortunate to say the least. Now I almost feel like I was gloating! If we meet over there, I'll buy the beer! [BACK...

Worlds & Monsters -- I has it, too!

Shadar-Kai... Humans who made a pact with the Raven Queen and live in the Shadowfell as her servants. They are granted a form of agelessness and are infused with shadow. Pale gray skin. Murkiness follows them, shadows reach for them. They keep themselves in continuous pain to anchor them to...

Worlds & Monsters -- I has it, too!

Other than seeing the word vampire a few times, I haven't seen anything specific yet. I also haven't seen Ravenloft mentioned.

Worlds & Monsters -- I has it, too!

Score, my 'get it the Saturday before release Tuesday' source has provided once again! (Too bad I'll be somewhere hot and sandy, drawing imminent danger pay in June... no early 4E for me.) I know there's another scoop thread going, but I've only scanned it, and not recently, so I'll add my...

FR Update at WotC-Year of the Ageless One

Exactly. Sorry, hardcore FR fans, but you've been fired. The truth is: FR as it stands has been driving people away (due to complexity and bloat) much faster than it has been attracting new players. Pretty much the only FR fans left are the hardcore fans. Left as it is, interest in FR will just...

FR Update at WotC-Year of the Ageless One

Orcs are the other popular guess for 2nd PC race, although they didn't get mentioned in this article. (Just reminding myself...)

FR Update at WotC-Year of the Ageless One

Interesting also that he stated the city-state of Shade went to the Plane of Shadow. Is that old language, and he really meant to state 'went to the Shadowfell?' Or maybe the Plane of Shadow merged with the Shadowfell, which allowed the city to regain contact with Toril (now Abier-Toril.) I...

FR Update at WotC-Year of the Ageless One

OK, after a decade of 'ugh, FR,' I'm interested again. Very well done, I think. I have no problem with the cut-and-paste addition of an entire Dragonborn civilization. That certainly better than "enough random people turned into Dragonborn that they made their own culture and avoided being...

    Necro is IN! Planned Products

I've been thinking more about whether or not the OGL/SRD will limit new races, classes, monsters, etc., specifically the revival of those 'left out' of 4E. I'm coming to the opinion that WotC has nothing to lose and everything to gain by allowing them to be published. Those that only want...

worlds and monsters is in my hands

    I'm hoping the latter!

worlds and monsters is in my hands

Unless they talk about the monsters in their appropriate section of the world. (I hope!)

    Necro is IN! Planned Products

My comment was not meant to imply that Necro's past products weren't up to par on quality. I do recognize them as a top third party publisher. Rather, my comment was in approval of the phased OGL that is designed limit and delay substandard stuff from appearing in the early days of 4E.

    Necro is IN! Planned Products

I'm not sure I have a stance yet, other than I am glad that are taking steps to increase third party quality. Mostly, I'm interested in actually seeing the decision they make and how it plays out. So, I wish you and Necro luck... I'm sure there will be a market for your mentioned products if...

    Necro is IN! Planned Products

Well, I do think they cared and are taking steps to prevent a recurrence. Hence the fact that you can't publish a 4E book until 1 Aug, almost 2 months after the core release. As far as new races and classes, esp 3rd party takes on the absent ones, I can see both sides. I wouldn't be surprised...

Tome of Treasure and what is "core"- I am a little worried

Oh, snap! Obviously you're not paying for the same level of service I am! Bummer for you, I have an exclusive contract. Might want to find your own.

Tome of Treasure and what is "core"- I am a little worried

In the Sep entry of his Ampersand column, Bill states that there is *at least* one hardcover D&D product planned per month for the next few years. Me? I think that's great! (Until the system gets bloated to the point that it drives me away, like 3E did. But I don't think that will necessarily...

    what to expect?

OK, so when questioned about talent trees, they gave a nebulous answer that does not confirm or deny them specifically but leaves room for the reader to infer something like them. Thanks for the clarification!
