RPGshop.com sells "precision" dice; but are they Gamescience brand?

Zocci has been giving that psuedo-science marketing spiel for years and it's changed nothing. It's only recently that people have started taking his sales pitch far more seriously than it deserves.

Maps getting crappy now that "tiles" are used to make them?

There's really no reason for them not to do this, particularly in light of their newfound focus on 'digital' gaming. There is certainly no large technical barrier. I know they've put some maps up for download, but if they're going digital they should really be taking advantage of the medium...

Hatin' the RPGA? (Forked Thread: The real flaw of 3E/3.5E/OGL)

The current default party size is 5 characters not 4. I don't feel like looking up if a default size was provided for previous editions, but I do know that I rarely, if ever played in groups with 6 players. I don't think the RPGA has quit that much influence on the rules, especially not at that...

    About Reveille

Is it a possibility yes, is it likely, no. The posts as a whole read like badly written fiction. It was like someone was trying to roleplay the events. Personally my :):):):):):):):) meter was up already and that was the final straw. It was too convenient. The alphabetical order, the phonetic...

    About Reveille

This. It was dubious before but at that point it became obvious that it wasn't real. It wasn't worth risking a ban to point out my doubts though so for once I exercised caution and stayed away :p

    Is this puzzle solvable?

Given that behavior my first guess as a player would be to attempt to get all 5 dice showing the same value. They would all show '3' after Y-R-B-R-R-R-B ... but now I see you've given 1400 as a clue so no idea how that is relevant :)

    When will PDFs be over?

Absolutely and totally untrue. Period. XML + XSLT. Done. There is the software that does this. It's not the only one, or even the one I would pick, but it is an effective counter example. You maintain one source file and generate any number of formats you want. Each translation is written once.

    When will PDFs be over?

Errr... that's because you're doing it wrong. Why on earth would you have two separate sources instead of one that is translated into the final formats? Maintaining separate formats for a single document is not a difficult task.

    DCC#56 - Scions of Punjar

There is currently no errata for Scions. Goodman puts it's errata here: Goodman Games • View topic - DCC Errata Log Though it could end up on it's product page. Minor note, there is not such thing as class levels in 4e. The wight in question has the cleric class template.

    Status of D&D Game Table?

I'm well aware of the definition of a wiki. If it stretches your imagination too much to understand the comparison, fine, ignore it. A well configured wiki, or other piece of content management software could have been used to provide the same (and likely better) functionality for a lot less...

    Status of D&D Game Table?

You're free to disagree, but that's all it is. It's a web based information repository with limited search capabilities. Comparing it to a wiki is more than fair. There is nothing special about it and there's really no excuse that it couldn't have been completed by release. Yes I've used it and...

    Status of D&D Game Table?

I'll take that bet. It is highly unlikely that the VTT will ever materialize. It's obvious to an experienced eye that they really do not know what they're doing and they don't have the resources to undertake a program that complex. Their history is appalling. So far they've release (late) a...

What would it take for 4E to win over the old guard? (Forked Thread: Changeover Poll)

Hmmm, our group with a collective 160+ years of RPG experience has been having fun with 4e since release, despite some flaws. The group is going to be surprised to hear that they weren't supposed to like it.

    Status of D&D Game Table?

Simple answer: It's currently vaporware. There's a chance it could pull itself out of that classification. Whether you are optimistic or pessimistic about the chances of that probably depend largely on how much stock you put into WotC's past failures with digital products.

Which CRPG has the best STORY? (Forked from: Do you not play WoW?)

Fallouts I and II set the standard for that type of game. Bethesda managed to get about 80% there. I went in with low expectations after seeing the travesty that is Oblivion, but they definitely did a good job with the franchise. It wasn't as good as it could have been, but it was well executed...

Which CRPG has the best STORY? (Forked from: Do you not play WoW?)

X really doesn't get nearly enough credit. Between the raging arguments between the "16 bit Final Fantasy games were so much better" elitists and those whose first FF game was VII (some of the former category in here too, they just think it's cooler to like VI or IV or whatever) it gets lost in...

Do you not play WOW? Forked Thread: Wil Wheaton plays and reviews 4th.

Wow, there's an uninformed opinion. That is simply not true at all. Even with WoW, as casual and easy as it is that is patently false.

Smudged printing, and should I even bother?

We're enjoying 4e, despite it's flaws (though there's a good chance we'll be moving back to WHFRP). However, if I was limited, artificial or otherwise, to three books in this system I'd pass.

Questions regarding the cost and weight of one cubic inch of iron or steel

The price of steel hasn't shot up or down recently. I think you'll be ok.

Questions regarding the cost and weight of one cubic inch of iron or steel

Just one? Probably not much. Find a machine shop and call them, they may think you're odd but you'll have your answer.
