That is pretty cool. If a player gets to freaky about the numbers they can make a human monk variant with Magic Initiate and the proper spell to simulate dragon breath. Then just put that cool image in the character description. I think it is also important to find out if you are rolling stats.

If this is your very first character I advise you to not make a level 1 dragon-born Monk. Instead, make: Scales Kahn, of the mountain fortress monastery. The swirling red fist, the disciple of the pure self. Then come up with whatever class works with that concept.

After a bit of playtesting my build I probably would replace Fog Cloud with Sleep. You can replace Sleep later if you want. Take Hold Person and when bad guys get higher saves you can trade that out too.

My first impression:I am kinda seeing a Battlemaster with additional maneuvers to choose from. Then after digesting it, the Warlord subclass is almost a Battlemaster with two additional maneuvers. Expertise seems kinda of wedged in to fill up a level feature. How about Rally Cry allow another...

I would start on ranger and go beastmaster . That way you have a constant supply of bones.

I wouldn't mind looking at another exceptions-based game but I don't know of any attempted 4E clones. I certainly won't spend any money on it. I would have to be smitten by its design, plus I would need to be able to find players.

Interesting. I am one of those DMs that go out of my way to make sure the Rogue is having conversations that no one in the party is aware of. Thieves' Cant was left out in 3x and 4E as far as I know, and I suppose it was included for those that liked the feature pre2000.
