When did I stop being WotC's target audience?

    This will be interesting :)

When did I stop being WotC's target audience?

My main problem is that a mere 3 years after 3.5 (which supposedly "fixed" 3.0) was produced, along came 4e. Even if 4e had a been a re-tooling of 3.5 (not an almost complete overhaul) then I would be less than happy still the same because it was only 3 years after the previous one. So...

When did I stop being WotC's target audience?

This is what I'm curious about, too. Instead of "fixing" 3.5 they went straight to a (and let's not pretend it isn't) a pretty much new set of rules. Why? Why not tidy up the errors from 3.5? Why did they decide to re-tool the entire game? I would dearly love to hear from one of the WOTC...

dm's, be honest: how often do you make mistakes?

With a doubt, every session. It could be anything from forgetting a spell that's current to realising the PCs should know something but I didn't tell them. In the end, it doesn't matter though. I compensate for the mistakes, or just let them ride; as long as they're not game-breakers it's...

    What did you buy?

To be honest, I'm not ready to hand over my $ (or £) just yet. I'm going to sit back a while and wait, just to see how it develops. WOTC has not the best track record for their multimedia projects - although this one has promise. I guess I'm waiting for it to be a "must have" before I give...

    Fantasy authors worth the reading.

The Sea Beggars There's hundreds of responses on this topic, and I've looked through most of them, but has anyone mentioned Paul Kearney? His "Sea Beggars" series (2 books at the moment) is excellent: 1) The Mark of Ran 2) The Forsaken Earth This is tightly edited stuff, my friends. Each...

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 - Coming in 2011

Exactly. Too many threads in the 2nd and 3rd movie that did not involve Jack Sparrow and the movies suffered as a result of it. I didn't give a damn about what happened to Will and Elizabeth, always more curious about what was going on with Jack. I'm kind of nervous at the thought of a 4th...

    The Lies of Locke Lamora

I can't help but agree with you on this one. LLL was much longer than it ought to have been. I mean, it started off well and the premise is pretty good, but the writer's style just didn't do it for me that much, and by the end of the book I was glad it was over. I REALLY wanted to like it...

    D&D 3.x What parts of 4E should I bring to 3.5?

I think that this is a pretty good idea :) Bloodied in 4th ed doesn't do a lot. When a character is bloodied it ought to entail some sort of penalty, to indicate that they've taken a fair amount of punishment, etc. As for what the penalty could be, I'd suggest the -2 penalty. -5 is a tad...
