2+3 aren't really problems as I see it, and I can't see the problem with Themes and essential characters sure the martial ones can't power swap but that hardly seems the main point of themes.

Also you got his 3rd ed stats wrong, as a multiclass character you should total his saves and attack bonus not take the best.

It could be the lack of material suitable to smelt iron with. It takes about 16 kg of charcol to smelt 1 kg of iron. The Tyr region just doesn't have that much wood.

Somewhat, the barabarian is more the Berzerker now, calling on bestial spirits to empower them (the word means "Bear Skin" iirc as in whering the skin of a bear and gaining it's power). A awful lot of 3rd characters change class when you convert them to 4th.

if you have a spare feat I'd recomend Great Spears. Battle Captain in the PHB is pretty good, rubbish powers really but you give Int mod to hit and speed when you heal someone.

Flavor - Once you can use Warlock stuff they can't take it away from you, plus it's arcane who cares what name you cast in? Yes this character is deluded. Mecahnics - He's wearing armour he's not proficent in and thus taking a -2 penelty to hit rolls.
