This thread appears to behave strangely. There are no replies, even though I was sure I had previously read some. Also, it seems "stuck" at the top of the thread list. EDIT: I see now that it has a date in the future.

What I had previously read, mentioned that the game would actually be closer to AD&D than previous versions, except for the use of specific terminology which might cause copyright infringement.

Do you have a link to this thread? I was assuming (naively?) that it was going to be as close as possible to AD&D 1e and I would like to know if this isn't actually the case.

I still love going to the theater, but I have to, sadly, concur with you. The decline will just go on.

Yes, it is a bit vague. My reading is that the scroll grants total protection from all the effects of the breath weapon. In Unearthed Arcana (for AD&D 1e) it has basically the same description.

I dunno. Upon first reading, I'm not fond of it, but - TBH - I'm very used to the old organization. I'll have to see if the new one grows on me. Of course, it actual play, I'm likely to rely on DDB, making the page order moot.

I track ammo in AD&D and Basic (or similar games). I do not track it in 5e.

I really enjoyed running the adventures in it and I recommend it.

I personally like Vancian magic, but I appreciate that different games do things differently, so I wouldn't want to use it in Shadowdark.

I love Greyhawk and that's what I would have likely voted anyway, but I agree with the others that Sigil should definitely have been included.

I've always mixed a ton of 1e and 2e. When 3.5 came out, I switched immediately and completely. I've yet to use the 2024 rules, so I'm not yet sure how it will go with those.

No, it does not. Actually, I think there's a dice rolled, but TBH, I've never used it.

My experience with VTTs is somewhat limited, but Roll20 and Owlbear Rodeo both allow to run games for free.
