    D&D 5E (2024) No Appendix N Equivalent?

It is no more "impossible" today than it was 10 years ago when they included one in the 2014 PHB and a second one in the 2014 DMG. There is no "need" to mention everything, you have one page where you mention as much as you can fit. You can fit quick references to a hell of a lot of...

D&D 5E (2024) Bard houserule: Bard's get the same starting weapon proficiency as Rogues

True Strike already uses Charisma if that is your spellcasting ability, so it works great for Bards as is

D&D 5E (2014) How Do You Feel About the Rate of New WotC Game Content for 5E DMs?

^This for me. I voted Dissatisfied but that is more about the quantity of GOOD content. I'd be fine with less books overall if it meant more high quality content that I actually cared to use

D&D 5E (2024) Alignment, Traits, and Roleplaying bennies

There are some (very few, but they do exist) mechanics in the game that impact depend on character alignment. With Rules As Written these mechanics are so rare that your route of ignoring alignment would not ever miss much, but I also try to homebrew in mechanics that depend on alignment, to...

D&D 5E (2024) Kobold Press posts 2024 DMG Hit Piece

Agreed let's not derail any further. The relevant point to the thread is that whether people love/hate WotC doesn't seem to have any predictive bearing on whether they take issue with the Kobold Press article

D&D 5E (2024) Kobold Press posts 2024 DMG Hit Piece

If you have a negative opinion of something then it is offensive to you, that's what the word means. You don't need to be angered, outraged, or have any emotional response to be offended.

D&D 5E (2024) Alignment, Traits, and Roleplaying bennies

Used properly, Alignment doesn't lead to anything, it is the result of character behaviors. Players play their characters however they want, and then Alignment is just a label to describe the actions that they take. I think the OP's suggested system could be really fun for the right group of...

D&D 5E (2024) Should full casters and Monks have one weapon mastery?

I could see a good argument for Monks, but not the rest. Certainly at least for Kensei subclass, I'm sure that subclass will have weapon masteries if it gets updated

D&D 5E (2024) Kobold Press posts 2024 DMG Hit Piece

On the flipside I have bought the WotC versions of the PHB and DMG and I don't think the article was problematic in any way. I think reactions to the Kobold Press article are much more based on one's propensity to be offended than on one's support/hatred for WotC

D&D 5E (2024) Kobold Press posts 2024 DMG Hit Piece

According to the article, the Midgard world information is contained in a separate book, not in their DMG (with a convenient link to buy it for just $50). Which I'm sure is an approach that WotC could've followed without anyone accusing them of spreading out content in order to milk more money...

D&D 5E (2024) Kobold Press posts 2024 DMG Hit Piece

You could certainly argue that it was catty and passive aggressive, but I don't think you could argue that anything they said was wrong or even a new criticism beyond what many others have already noted. To some that may still be a bad look, but for me personally I have no problem with it...

D&D 5E (2024) Kobold Press posts 2024 DMG Hit Piece

It looks bad when you snip a few sentences out of context and provide your own commentary, but after clicking the link and reading the entire thing in its own context, I don't see what people are complaining about. The article was a reasonably fair review, and the deficiencies they highlighted...

D&D 5E (2024) Making and Selling Potions for Fun and Profit?

Page 213 bottom left corner has a highlighted insert thing stating that "Equipment fetches half its cost when sold". That's a great rule of thumb to print in the book but I would've preferred to see the word "generally" in there just to make it more clear that the player should expect that the...

D&D 5E (2024) Making and Selling Potions for Fun and Profit?

The PHB says that you need 25 gold worth of raw materials, not that you must BUY 25 gold of raw materials. So there are a few ways to make profit here: Loot raw materials from monsters (e.g. blood from any regenerating monster) Loot raw materials from foraging herbs Buy 25g worth of materials...

    D&D 5E (2024) Teamwork tier list

Fair point. I've always seen resistances be extremely common, and not always obvious. But I've also rarely (never?) seen DMs use statblocks straight from the Monster Manual without modification, so my perception of RAW could be off

D&D 5E (2024) Emanation damage point and linked exploits:

Wild shaping into a hasted owl increases the effectiveness (and silliness), but in most cases you can likely do this just fine as any class (that can cast any of the emanation spells). Unless you're in a space with very tight corridors, the 10-15 foot range of the emanation will generally allow...

    D&D 5E (2024) Teamwork tier list

You ranked Hunter at the very bottom but I'd say that Hunter's Lore is actually pretty strong for group synergy. Immediately knowing every resistance and immunity can often help bump up everyone's damage. Ranger itself is weak though, no argument there.

    D&D 5E (2014) Reducing Power Gaming

This is what I was going to say. It does not sound like the OP is concerned about what people typically mean when they say Power Gaming (meaning players who Min/Max every detail of their character for optimal damage), they sound more concerned about the general power curve of 5e DnD regardless...

D&D 5E (2024) Tier List. Barbarian Review and Ratings.

Who cares about teleporting people into falling damage? That might come up once in a campaign, if ever. The ability is amazing because it enables you to actually hold aggro as a tank, something every other subclass in the game lacks.

D&D 5E (2024) GWM feat and ranged weapons?

Seems pretty obvious that they want this to work with Ranged weapons, but that they felt like letting brute strength somehow enable you to quickly shoot a second target was a bridge too far so they left the Melee requirement in for Hew. I'm not sure what you mean by "double sub-optimal"...
