D&D 5E (2014) If you could run or play in any D&D 5e campaign right now, which would it be?

It's quite good! We had a first-time DM run it for us at a local game store and the guy was great with character voices and improv. It was really a ton of fun.

D&D 5E (2014) If you could run or play in any D&D 5e campaign right now, which would it be?

I picked up Ebonclad, which is a series of short adventures and a sourcebook for a thieves' guild. And I found a screaming deal (on eBay) for remaindered copies of the 5e Abomination Vaults adventure path ($21 and change, free shipping). I think I can mash up both of those and come out with...

D&D 5E (2014) If you could run or play in any D&D 5e campaign right now, which would it be?

I think Dark Matter may be a bit too much of a departure from traditional fantasy for my needs right now, but it does look cool! I have looked into this. I was really excited about this when it was announced, but it got pretty much horrible reviews across the board (bad content editing, bad...

I really wish there was a 5e version of Completely Unfathomable for this reason. It's all the fun of Keep on the Borderlands with a heavy helping of Weird. But, alas, there are only DCC and S&W versions currently.

D&D 5E (2014) If you could run or play in any D&D 5e campaign right now, which would it be?

I have Empire of Ghouls, as it turns out. And I think I have the 5e version of Ptolus around here somewhere. How is Radiant Citadel?

D&D 5E (2014) If you could run or play in any D&D 5e campaign right now, which would it be?

What the thread title asks, though 3rd party campaigns are absolutely fair game. Ebonclad has caught my eye for example (though it's more a series of adventures that happens to be linked to a thieves' guild rather than a true adventure path). I just picked up TotV and would like to run something...

    What Are Your Non-Gaming Hobbies/Interests?

I love a good giallo - sex, violence, and oftentimes a denouement that is so absurd as to be implausible but entertaining.

    What Are Your Non-Gaming Hobbies/Interests?

In my case, I seek out giallo - primarily Italian, but also some Spanish and French, dating back to the mid-1960s (some of them are very difficult to source on DVD or in digital format, and must be procured on VHS or even film). I haven't gone as heavy on this as I did back in the mid-2010s when...

What is/are your most recent TTRPG purchase(s)?

In March I picked up a used (but advertised as complete) copy of WotC's Everway (1995) for $30. I didn't unpack it until a couple of weeks ago. And, boy howdy, was it ever complete - not only did it contain all of the core Everway components (books, cards, sheets), but on top of the box was a...

    What Are Your Non-Gaming Hobbies/Interests?

Experimenting with less popular computer operating systems (e.g. weird Linus distros, FydeOS, etc). [Edit: Watching as many giallo films as I can.]

    OSR BrOSR

That looks interesting, but a few of the low star reviews worry me. Specifically the one that says the author talks about playing war games, but ignoring terrain and attributing that style of play to Gary. I may be mistaken, but as I recall, Gary had a sand table. So he very specifically used...

D&D General "In search of" ...

A few years ago, I ran a brief FR campaign using the 1e box set, many of the FR supplements, and some of the novel canon, but with the Stormbringer 1e rules (so lots more demon summoning and not a care given for character balance). Elminster had gone mad with power, killed many of the other...

Exploring Pellucidar - is there anything in TTRPG space?

Indeed, there has been (it's the only one that I know of). [Edit: Looks like you can pick it up on Amazon for $20 US.]

What Does the RPG Hobby Need Now?

In the D&D space, more viable alternatives to D&D 5e. I loved the options in Level Up: Advanced 5e (much better than core 5e, IMO). Tales of the Valiant looks good. I adore Ba5ic (a D&D 5e-based game inspired by the old Basic D&D games). I'm really, reeeeeally, burned out on core 5e (although I...

D&D 3.x Formatting/Page Appearance Suggestions and Tips For Publishing

Don't overdo the gutters. A while back, I purchased a PDF to find that two thirds of each page was unused white space (the left and right gutters), while only one third of each page contained actual text. I assume the publisher did this to pad out the page count. I was not a happy customer.

Where’s The Beastmaster Roleplaying Game? Part 1

It's right here. There's specifically a power that covers the classic Beastmaster archetype (though animal companions are non-combatants by default).

What Video Game RPG System Do You Want to See Adapted to Tabletop

I was really looking forward to the ADOM (Ancient Domains of Mystery) tabletop RPG. It was successfully Kickstarted in 2019, but then the developers decided to kill the project. Last I knew, backers were still requesting (and not receiving) refunds.

    Not necessarily.

    Good Television Mystery Series

I'm a sucker for a good television mystery series. Currently, my two favorites are Murdoch Mysteries (an alt-history series with a focus on science) and Banacek (an older series starring George Peppard which, truth be told, I've watched in its entirety a few times). Are there any other good...
