Well, he has often demonstrated that he's not half as smart as he likes to believe he is, so this seems right.

What is it about TTRPGs for YOU?

Well, the first thing is, admittedly, something that I can get from other entertainment mediums (board games, card games, etc). The latter, however, is really something unique to RPGs, for me. I don't get the same depth of fantasy world exploration from, say, playing Twilight Imperium that I do...

What is it about TTRPGs for YOU?

Two things: Having fun with friends (also, making new friends) and exploring fantastic worlds.

The older i get the less I need.

I mostly own PDFs now, though it's primarily because I'm poor and struggle with finances (I'm disabled and have very little income). I used to absolutely dread selling my precious RPG collectibles, but I've gotten over it. Now it's just another way to pay the bills (and meds, food, etc). And I...

What Property Do You Still Want to See Get a TTRPG Adaptation

I own the first edition of Starchildren (you can pick it up for a tenner all over the Internet). I did not know there was a second edition. And I agree that, while the system isn't great, the setting is AMAZING.

That's not quite accurate. Ernie and Jeff get to split 48% of the proceeds and Justin splits the remaining 52% with his wife.

D&D General What creature did you introduce against type that turned out great?

I haven't really run a dragon in 5e (just in earlier editions), but using lair actions and making their size matter re: AoE spells are both good suggestions.

D&D General What creature did you introduce against type that turned out great?

A lot of it is pretty easy. Tone down the intellect and do away with the funny talk. If they hoard treasure, treat it more as animal attraction (e.g. ravens) than a human quality like greed. The hardest part are the actual combat numbers. Typically I up the AC by 50% and multiply the HP...

    Are our tastes set?

If I could only choose one D&D, it would be Holmes core rules (which is, indeed, the edition I first played) + class progression and monsters from AD&D 1e. Which is a bit of a cheat, but these rule books, as published were: Holmes first, then the AD&D 1e Monster Manual, then the AD&D 1e PHB...

    gritty industrial/sci-fi horror RPG recommendation?

The Shadow Project is very much a dark, gritty, industrial science fiction RPG. Think Resident Evil if the T-Virus went completely off the rails.

    Best Horror Role Playing Game

I think it's almost The Clive Barker RPG.

D&D General What creature did you introduce against type that turned out great?

Well, in my experience, most D&D dragons (there are exceptions) follow a certain model: Very much human gentlemen in a lizard's skin who are quite chatty and hoard treasure. Also meant to be defeated by a small party of heroes. My dragons are nothing like that - they don't speak (they only...

WotC Some Rich Dude Calls for Wizards of the Coast to "Burn in Hell" and I Refuse to Care

It's worth a look. Some trolls have recently come over from Twitter in an attempt to stink up the place, but Bluesky has a trust and safety team (Twitter does not have one anymore and hasn't for quite awhile) and is much more on top of banning bots and other problematic accounts.

D&D General What creature did you introduce against type that turned out great?

I have, historically, portrayed dragons as bestial forces of nature who are not easily defeated, even by a party of heroes (in many cases, a sizable compliment of soldiers and siege weapons are required to defeat dragons in my campaigns).

OSR What OSR System for Barrowmaze?

Which is more expensive than all of the other options. Considerably more expensive than BFRPG or S&W Core. Just a few dollars more than ALL. But still more expensive.

D&D General What is your most prized Dungeons and Dragons Product?

For years, it was my Hook Horror action figure gifted to me by a Circvs Maximus Secret Santa. But then my dog ate it.

Adventure Most Fowl. Just change the chickens to turkeys (for Thanksgiving) or geese (for Christmas).

OSR What OSR System for Barrowmaze?

Somebody elsewhere kindly volunteered to send me a copy of Dragonslayer gratis as it was out of my financial reach (I live on a fixed income and Gillespie's products are simply priced out of my reach). So I'll definitely examine this as an option.
