What is/are your most recent TTRPG purchase(s)?

For some reason, that OAR and Into the Borderlands haven't commanded the (frankly) absurd prices that the others bring. Into the Borderlands typically brings about $40 and The Temple of Elemental Evil still brings just about retail ($75). There's always the chance that those prices will spike...

What is/are your most recent TTRPG purchase(s)?

I had two dollars in credit earlier this month, so picked up the Glory Road Roleplay encounters book (the bestiary). The formatting, like that in all of the Glory Road Roleplay books is... uh... something. BUT the system itself is actually pretty neat if you like earlier generations of crunchy...

That makes sense. And then sell the house at fair market value.

TSR The Full & Glorious History of NuTSR

I remember when WotC had official stores (like, with their brand on them). Maybe they could run the Hobby Shop Museum in a manner befitting its history (as an actual museum instead of a crappy tourist trap).

One of the things that my time observing court cases has taught me is that being ordered to pay damages and being able to pay damages are often different things.

D&D General How you would have done the Dungeons and Dragons' movie - 80's edition

Maybe not by non-film aficionados, but it is absolutely what got, not only his career off the ground, but that of his brother, as well (his brother wrote the screenplay). It was also partially funded by their parents, for whom Mirimax was named (this was the studio's second film). That said...

The Burning. He was [edit: story] writer and producer. It's also notable as it launched the careers of many future Hollywood stars, including Fisher Stevens, Jason Alexander, and Holly Hunter. It's actually a pretty scary film and has some inventive kill scenes as far as early 80s slasher films go.

His big breakout film was actually a b-movie horror slasher that has since become a cult classic.

Well, I was like six years old when it came out, so that probably has something to do with it. :) Sorry about that.

D&D General How you would have done the Dungeons and Dragons' movie - 80's edition

I think budget was the least of its problems. I mean, it had very typical 80s-90s style animation and big name actors doing the voices (but not very experienced voice actors*, which I think was a big part of the problem). I think the biggest issue was trying to cram a full length novel into 90s...

There was an animated Dragonlance film and it absolutely bombed.

This could be really cool, but the Planeswalker TV series I really want would be based on Everway.

I love Krull. I bought Horner's Krull double CD box set when it first went out of print and it set me back over $120. I still consider it among his best work (if not THE best work).

They were also alien slug things in humanoid powered armor shells, so there's some serious sci-fi going on in Krull.

I'd adapt one of R.A. Salvatore's lesser known but, in my honest opinion, better written book series: The Spear Wielder's Tale trilogy. [Edit: Ooo! Or the old Legendlore/The Realm comics!]

TSR The Full & Glorious History of NuTSR

Not really. Some have assumed that the previous valuation of 5 million dollars may have been chosen for insurance reasons, however. I mean, it's an absolutely bonkers valuation and the only other (not totally implausible) reason for assigning that figure to the museum is that Justin is...
