    OotS #673: Too Slow

Damn but I was missing it but good. OotS withdrawal isn't as bad as what those junkies go thru but it was getting bad none-the-less ;)

So, you're going to the nuthouse today...what book are you taking?

The original Dragon Warriors book. I've only read the new edition, but a paper back would be perfect for when they release me to walk aimlessly and homeless on the streets of New York ;)

    While ENWorld chokes . . .

Well, I paid for the date and EnWorld still isnt giving out... very frustrating... I'd settle for a peck on the cheek or something at this point ;)

    Ahahahaha. . . um, haha? :/

The courts ruled such, I imagine, as an exercise in expediency and prudence. It was not practical to attempt to contact hundreds of customers in such a case. Many transactions were probably made in cash, with no records available to track down the purchasers. It is EXTREMELY practical to...

another rpg industry doomsday article (merged: all 3 "Mishler Rant" threads)

The OGL boom is long gone. Best we can hope for now is a GSL quickie ;) In any case, ranting about the current market won't change the realities of the market. If the marketer can't adjust he simply won't succeed.

James tried that... he lasted, two months maybe? He certainly went for the gold ring right from the start, but fell off the carousel fairly quickly.

    Any gaming conventions in/near NY?

Oops! Yeah, kinda forgot that whole chunk of western NYS. Which is bad, because when I get away on vacation it's to NE PA, which borders NYS west of Albany.

    Any gaming conventions in/near NY?

NY is a big state, define as Downstate (NYC Area) and Upstate (pretty much Albany on up). Downstate is kinda poor in gaming cons from what I've seen, but comics and sci-fi cons are frequent. I don't know upstate at all, so no info for you there.

Starting a new online campaign - any suggestions

I'm a big FG2 advocate, but the OP would have to cough up $40 for the full license for himself, and his players would have to cough up $24 each, for a product they may or may not like, to play online which may or may not suit their styles. I am of the belief that you start cheap (or free) and...

sony e reader and game related pdfs

I've been enjoying reading most (not all) of my gaming pdfs on the Kindle DX. The DX doesn't have a zoom, in order to enlarge the page you have to switch to a horizontal orientation. Most of my pdfs are readable for my eyes in a vertical orientation, but my GF would be lucky to read it...

Running a Multicultural, Multilingual Roleplaying Group

I would go retro-clone before I'd go 3.5 for my D&D in this case. For one, the rules are generally free in PDF format. Secondly, they are much simpler then what you you'd be using in 3.5. You don't want to overwhelm them from the start because you risk losing them from the start. My...

Help me pick a laptop please =)

I enjoy my 9" Acer netbook, but if I was going to do schoolwork on it I'd break out my fullsized laptop. Fullsized laptop = fullsized keyboard, which is very important for reports and such. As Thanee said, the netbook lacks a CD/DVD drive, which will make installing many programs difficult to...

    WotC: Kindle/E-Fiction Books? When?

Yeah, think I have the same issue with Knockspell magazine. Course, its from the same folks. Wonder if Mythmere is using a different method them most in creating the PDFs?

GSL extended to 3.5 in March 2009

Next you're going to tell me that netbooks and e-book readers I've heard tell of in development are vaporware! Good thing Windows ME works so well I'll never need to upgrade my OS ever again...

    WotC: Kindle/E-Fiction Books? When?

Uhm, the Kindle can read non-DRM mobi format e-books, and most other formats can be converted to mobi. You DON'T have to buy your books from Amazon. ALL the PDFs I've been reading on the DX are DRM free. To tell the truth I don't think the Kindle DX can read DRM PDFs, but I could be wrong...
