    FUMcon Online Convention

The was another thread in "The Commons" from earlier this week when the FUM site was also attacked. I posted there that FUM were down again this morning and others added to the thread. It appears you just had bad luck with the "Wandering Troll" roll you made ;)

    FUMcon Online Convention

Still buggered. If I recall correctly, the VTTs used during FUNCon will be determined by those volunteers willing to GM. I'd assume FG2 will be the most widely used. I'll be looking for a Maptools or Battlegrounds game to play in to get an in game feel for them. As for Kloogewerks...

    FUMcon Online Convention

Forums and groups are still buggered. CC227, you did nothing wrong in posting the FUM site was hacked on the FG boards. Every online community has an ass or two (or more) :)

    About Reveille

I can understand why the mods do not want to divulge Rev's personal history. I also can understand why many, if not most, of the posters want more info to be able to understand HOW and WHY this community got played as well as it did. IMHO, Rev gave up all expectations of privacy when he...

    Professional GM Diary: Final Preparations

I brought that up on the previous thread. Its all fun and games until someone learns you are running a business using their property. I guess it all depends on how much business this brings to the cafe ;)

    Monte Cook's new Dungeonaday.com?

The niche is those that have enjoyed the products that Monte has published in the past. If he gets Ptolus sales numbers to subscribe to this he is in a very profitable position. It will most certainly NOT be for everyone, but it will certainly be on my list of things I subscribe to. A movie...

Fantasy Grounds II as 4e campaign tool?

You will need at least one full copy of FG2 to accomplish what you want, and a lite license if you want the second monitor to display just what your players can see. I've played online using both the Warhammer 40k and C&C rulesets and its been a blast... I can't give it higher praise then that.

    The Impasse

Can someone point out the actual Arcade Part of MMORPGs for me. I click on hot keys and use wasd to move, but with the posible exception of Tabula Rasa I haven't experienced the arcade "twitch" skills needed in a true arcade game or first person shooter. Just curious, as the OP lists this as...

    Forked Thread: The Impasse

Forked from: The Impasse Uhm, what arcade skills are needed in most MMORPGs? They aren't shooters. Clicking a hotbar does not an arcade game make. Now, if you want to make the claim that the abilities in the hotbars draw some sort of indirect line to powers in 4e I can see some resemblence.

    The Impasse

So, Blind Defenders use which power source in 4e? On that note, which 3.x splat book had 4ed Haters in it? Is it OGL? Sorry, I can't make a serious comment when an argument comes down to the school yard equivalent of "I know you are, but what am?" So, who'se up for a game of Rolemaster? We...

Will the WOTC Gametable return or is it dead forever?

It was never here, so it can't return. Is it ever going to arrive? I hope so, but I think they would be better off buying or licensing, FG2 / Battlegrounds / Some Other Alternative, then continuing to beat a horse that was barely alive before the latest purge of WotC employees.

    The Impasse

I thought the topic was about marijuana smoking evil companies that overextended on loans and employed Golden Wyverns riden by Blind Defenders. Its not!?! Damn...

    [Anti-Edition-War]Common Ground

I'm not saying a group of 20 isn't workable, but optimal? Heh ;)

    [Anti-Edition-War]Common Ground

Now maybe I missed something only getting into gaming in 1982, but was 20 EVER an optimal number of players? It was probably doable with the original box set but who would want to play in such a game? The largest group I ever ran was 10... that was a beast. Played in a session with 13 and...

Maptools has a really handy and downright amazing set of video tutorials you can download: MapTool Screencast Tutorials It explained an awful lot for me in a way I could easily absorb.

    iCon, DDI, VTs, and You?

I play in 2 weekly games using FG2... one is a Warhammer 40k Dark Heresy game, the other is Castles and Crusades. It satisfies my gaming urge quite nicely. I haven't GM'ed yet. I own Klooge (which is clunky and dated), ScreenMonkey Full (eh) and Battlegrounds (great potential down the...

Why doesn't WotC license older editions?

The OGL allows publishers to create books for all earlier editions of D&D. So why should WotC waste limited resources publishing for discontinued lines when there are small publishers that can fill that niche using the OGL? There is no need to license anything... the OGL is the license. I...

Why doesn't WotC license older editions?

Yep, that is why WotC doesn't want another half dozen branded versions of D&D out in the market. The car analogy doesn't work because RPGs don't need an official channel of parts to keep them running. All you need are players and a DM and one copy of the original rules or a suitable clone and...
