    The Imperial Age Design

I'm a big proponent of condensing the skill list. In addition to these changes, I'd rework Drive and Pilot to include vehicle types, so that the skills work like Perform with its various performance types. This will reduce the need for some of the vehicle feats, like Surface Vehicle Operation...

Hasbro announces 3rd quarter earnings conference call

lol Given Hasbro's past treatment of D&D they're more likely to say: Wizards of the Coast, our division that makes Magic: the Gathering and other games, had a successful quarter with increased sales from the reissue of one of its popular game lines.

    Power Enhancement Feats: Paladin Powers

Thanks for working on this. I agree that the Paladin could benefit from some additional feats (particularly since most of the divinity feats are so lame).

    D&D 4E 4e paladin build

I'll join the chorus in recommending Toughness over Improved Initiative. The additional hit points will be most welcome. Also, I haven't seen this in play yet, but I anticipate that having a higher rank for Bloodied will also come in handy. I've learned to live with the fact that my Paladin...

    Does anyone like class skills?

This is much easier and elegant to implement.

    Does anyone like class skills?

I've always treated the feats with the +2 skill benefit as also making those skills class skills. I like the idea of giving characters a +2 benefit in all class skills and getting rid of cross-class skills. This would also lessen the difficulty of having to pick certain core classes for the...

    Irontooth deadliness

Party of 7: 2 Paladins, 2 Rangers, Warlord, Rogue, Warlock We never got more than three squares inside the door. My Paladin did go down briefly and several characters were close to going down. Almost everyone used their Second Wind, the Pallys used all of their Lay on Hands, and the Warlord...

Is there an effective way to stall a group?

Alternatively, why is this a problem? Why can't the fourth player's PC also be on the ship? He can be one of the crew or a passenger, perhaps one who's been seasick up until the player shows.

    New stealth stuff from WotC

Sure. The rogue would have combat advantage due to being hidden at the begining of their turn. At the end of their turn, after moving out to attack, the rogue would not be hidden.

    Dilettante advice...

Good suggestions. Also look at the Paladin's Valiant Strike.

    Minions and Temporary Hit Points

Last weekend, we played out the Irontooth encounter in KotS. Irontooth had some ability that he used to grant the minions temporary hit points. Generally, this meant that the minions went down in two hits, and it certainly made the encounter more challenging.

    Warlord buffs

That's why it's a Daily Power. I agree that it should be played as an aura.

1/2 Orc - A new page for an old race

I like the design of the Group Tenacity feat, but I'm not sure that it's a fit for the half-orc. Group Tenacity implies that half-orcs are natural leaders of humans, orcs, or whatever group they are with, which is not the traditional image of the half-orc. Their traditional image is more of a...

Witch Hunter: Are you playing? Yes? No? Why?

I'm not playing and don't intend to. First, I'm in a group that's playing Solomon Kane. Second, this is close to a project that I'm working on. And third, I don't like the alt-history premises underlying the game. My read is that it's fairly alt. From the Campaign Guide...

I've had the same problem with the Dragonborn article.

    System-unique Feats

For d20 M, I allow PCs to spend an action point for a Heroic Surge. So, the feat isn't required.

Sooo how is everyone liking the new ENWorld?

I like the faster loading times. I don't like the slider bars around the stories on the front page. They seem unnecessary and really add visual clutter.

What needs to be fixed/improved in d20 Modern?

Occupations help, but they don't solve this problem in all cases. Regardless, players are required to do too much planning and character design levels in advance, resulting in too much delayed gratification. There is no need to increase the skill points if you consolidate skills like Spot...

    The Fate of D20 Modern

What needs to be fixed/improved in d20 Modern?

This was my experience as well. Plus, because of the limited availability of some class skills, you sometimes have to juggle odd combinations of classes and/or backgrounds in order to meet the prerequisites for an AdvC. I started my first d20M game at 3d Level but quickly realized that the PCs...
