D&D 5E (2024) Check Out The New Map Of D&D's Planes!

Zendikar is roughly analogous to Eberron as an Adventure World, only if it was in adrift in Limbo / Elemental Chaos. Old Phyrexia & Mirrodin / New Phyrexia is an interesting "Future World" plane, a sort of Shadowfell meets Mechanus Ixalan is The Lost World + Mayaincatec Sun Empire riding...

D&D 5E (2024) Check Out The New Map Of D&D's Planes!

If I was doing a cosmology based off of MtG, I'd probably combine and symplify: W -- Astral Sea U -- Mechanus B -- Shadowfell R -- Elemental Chaos G -- Feywild WU -- Sigil & The Outlands UB -- The Far Realm BR -- The Abyss RG -- "Prehistoric World" echo plane GW -- Arcadia WB -- The Nine Hells...

D&D 5E (2024) Check Out The New Map Of D&D's Planes!

Do they not? Weren't they in the 2014 PHB? Was there some announcement that those pantheons would be cut from the 2024 core rules? And even if so, how does that make them somehow no longer in official D&D, when both sets of Core Rules are official 5e material? And beyond that, all past editions...

    D&D 5E (2024) Let's call it 5.24

I could get on board with that, too. I just meant if I was going to set v5.0 as start of 5E and v5.2 as 2024/2025 new rulebooks, and was going to literally follow SRD timeline, the 5.0 SRD was 2015, and the 5.1 SRD was 2016. But v1.0 Basic Rules was 2018. I could also see a v5.0.1 as 2014...

    D&D 5E (2024) Let's call it 5.24

I'd call v5.0 as 2014-2015 and v5.1 as 2016-2023, reflecting those periods of the OGL-SRD-5E. Though the final Basic Rules came out in 2018 and some people would consider 5.1 to be Tasha's given its substantial rules updates…

    D&D 5E (2024) All 48 Player’s Handbook 2024 Subclasses

You see, I like magic baked into the ranger. I don't see where a non-magical ranger isn't just a Fighter or Rogue (Scout). Similarly, I feel like the main issue with lack of Warlord/Marshal is that Battle Master maneuver resources are limited in the base game (wish they were bringing over...

D&D 5E (2024) Check Out The New Map Of D&D's Planes!

It shows the depth of Bytopia? And the height of Mount Celestia? Isn't depth just height from a different starting value?

So then what is your definition of making Martials actually good? I imagine porting Martial Practices over from 4e would do wonders?

    D&D 5E (2024) All 48 Player’s Handbook 2024 Subclasses

I mean, Berserker is nearly as click goes boom as Champion is, and Life Domain and Evoker are as close to that as you'd ever get with spellcasters. At least Thief is crafty and tactically-minded for a Basic Rules subclass.

The OP's map? It was a blink and you miss it subliminal moment in the Barbarian video posted by WotC today on their main YT channel.

    D&D 5E (2024) All 48 Player’s Handbook 2024 Subclasses

Why are people acting like non-spellcasters aren't getting goodies in this book? All of the Martials save Monk get Weapon Masteries, and Monk gets Martial Arts and Discipline Points to make up for the lack thereof. This is a big leap forward in providing Martials with tactical options they...

D&D 5E (2024) Check Out The New Map Of D&D's Planes!

Yeah, but all of those are spinning inside the Deep Ethereal! It's just a zoom in on a part of the Planescape that the above map doesn't detail because it's prioritizing Sigil and the Outlands over the Material, Echo, Transitive, and Inner Planes. For this reason I'd like a Munsell Solid...

D&D 5E (2014) Fighter should be called Knight and Monk Should be called Fighter, change my mind

Both should be called Fighters. The Warrior Category of classes should be called the Fighter category. They should have Fighter, Expert, and Magic-User. as overarching categories. And some classes can have multiple categories. Keep the Power Sources out of it, just highlight the roles.

    D&D 5E (2024) What's the future of Xanathar and Tasha? (+)

I anticipate we'll either get a streamlined Character Rules Expansion book that combines some options like Death and Grave Domain or Undying and Undead Patrons, some options will be left out entirely, but most Rules Expansion options (and the missing Core Rules subclasses for Cleric and Wizard...

D&D 5E (2024) What Should A New Core Setting Look Like?

It's literally the blank slate core setting that fits everything in it. A lot of people want to play in their own sandbox but one with just enough demarcated that they don't have to make everything up but also don't have to read 500 novels or a wikia to understand the background. I think WOTC...
