Two-blades ranger with two bastards - kosher?

I understand that you are a heathen but do you have to be so in your face about it. :)

Two-blades ranger with two bastards - kosher?

I really don't understand what you are not getting here. It is perfectly understandable to think in a world where magic exists crazy magic things can happen, and at the same time say when magic is not involved the craziness should be on a somewhat realistic scale. Games like this can even end...

    Crafting aboard a ship

I did not see any rules on it. I'd say it is purely a judgment call on the side of the DM for there game style. I like the skill challenge idea. Maybe I'd have a failed skill challenge create an encounter with ritual magic going horrible wrong. And personally In bad weather I'd just say no.

Not that I agree with his points, but that is a fairly common take and not illogical. Magic, being well magic and not following basic scientific laws does not have to be grounded in reality. There is no magic to in reality to compare it to and say, magic doe not work that way. Non-magical...

Two-blades ranger with two bastards - kosher?

I think they are both explicit rules design. It is explicit rules design the halflings can wraslte dragons and explicit rules design that you can dual wield bastard swords. With powers like hail of arrows being martial exploits and not magical powers it seems clear that it is explicit...

D&D 4E changing 4e rules so that the game doesn't need miniatures

I have never found it necessary even in 4e. But I play with people who like to paint minis, craft minis out of hero clix and a whole bunch of other mini based things. I'd kind of feel like a jerk, if I went all no minis in my games after all the work they put into them. On the bright side...

    Force Orb Question

And here I thought the spirit of the spell was to allow people to attack the ground, since that is the primary reason the object line was added IMO. You can up your odds on the AoE part working out by giving up the primary damage.

Two-blades ranger with two bastards - kosher?

Fiction!! Fiction!!! Are you trying to tell me Remo Williams is fiction. That is such bunk, super powered monk assassins are totally working for the USA, right this minute. When details of there exploits were going to be revealed to the public they created a series of novels pushing reality...

Mearls on Controller design and At-Will balance

I was totally with you up to this point, and then you went and lost all of your credibility.

Two-blades ranger with two bastards - kosher?

Since we are digressing.. One of my issues with 4e is they either went to far with superpower, suspension of disbelief craziness or not far enough. Turn off my mind to standard action movie level, fine. Turn off my mind to Commando level of action move(2nd greatest movie of all time, only...

Two-blades ranger with two bastards - kosher?

Its like a CHr based move. You are misdirecting them into moving on their own 4 squares while immobilized. That is the problem people have with it. They could care less if something like thunderwave pushes them 4 squares.

    Grading At-Will Powers

Just curious with the designers saying after the invoker preview that they think the wizards at wills are a bit sub-par have people rethought there grading on wizard at wills. Now that I've been playing a while I don't rate the area at wills nearly as high as I thought in the beginning. You...

Two-blades ranger with two bastards - kosher?

I suspect this is due to the problem that sword names are a bit fuzzy. Terms like bastard sword tend to be applied to a wide range of swords, some of which probably never would be wielded one handed with a full shield and others that would and probably were.

Not a big Limburger fan but Stilton is mild. I will have to track down beerkasse and see if it is as awesome as you seem to suggest.

    D&D 4E Are humans balanced in 4e?

That is a lot funnier than my mugging. I can't stop laughing.

    D&D 4E Are humans balanced in 4e?

Actually if you have a hammer you probably don't need a screw driver much. They both basically do the same thing, push a long pointy piece of metal through two objects binding them together. Sure you might get a benefit out of both, the screwdriver takes longer to bind the pieces together but...

What was so bad about the Core 2e rules? Why is it the red-headed stepchild of D&D?

I loved 2e and still do. I guess I'd say my complaint with 2e would be it I really liked the presumed advancement to a leader or lord of an area from the BECM and 1e eras. You could do it in 2e, but it was really built in to BECM and 1e. Other than that it rocked. Right now I love hackmaster...

When did We Stop Trusting Game Designers?

It has been a while but I read the complete priests handbook, so I may be miss remembering it but we made fairly effective priests from it, and sometimes it went really wrong and we made crappy priests with it. The entire purpose of it was if you wanted to make priests that were not the...

    Dragon 370 - Invoker Preview

I'm not massively impressed with weapon focus either, though I think you will usually get slightly more out of it since spell casters usually mix up there elements over a fight, and weapon users rarely change weapons over a fight. Though the ranger in my game does all the time, so maybe I am...

    Dragon 370 - Invoker Preview

At the level my party is at, for them at wills are most of the fight and lots of time the entire fight. Disparity of at wills even small disparities can have a large impact. Where I think it can be felt most if a class with the same role has strictly superior at wills. The invoker is a...
