    Stuff to Help Archers?

I'm looking for magic items or spells that will assist an elven wizard who uses a bow. So far I have cat's grace, greater magic weapon, and arrow mind (Spell Compendium p. 15; allows you to threaten with a ranged weapon and not provoke AoO). Anything else?

Charm Person / Mind Bender's Eternal Charm Person

The above posts are why the spell is so misunderstood and overestimated. From the spell description: The spell does not enable you to control the charmed person as if it were an automaton, but it perceives your words and actions in the most favorable way. You can try to give the subject orders...

Healing Belt in MIC = broken?

Nice. You asked a question and you got a lot of advice that you're choosing to ignore and just "ban" the spell instead. That's your choice. I know what I think of it.

Healing Belt in MIC = broken?

What?!?! That's the kind of DM-fiat that I absolutely loathe. Instead of fixing the "problem" (which arguably isn't if you see the analysis done above), just "ban it". :-S If you've done any kind of research at all into magic item creation you'd know full well that the game designers have said...

    New Management

Not true. Not true at all. If the price is right, WotC/Hasbro will sell it. Everything has a price. And D&D is no different.

Charm Person / Mind Bender's Eternal Charm Person

Charm is one of the most misunderstood spells in the game. It does not allow you to control creatures. It allows you to make them friendly to you. I would never allow a player to control creatures under the effects of a charm spell. It's charmed, not enslaved (that's the dominate person spell)...

    Professional GM: Possible Return

This is ridiculous. I read the last thread from the OP and someone needs to step up to the plate and give this guy a reality check so it might as well be me. Buddy, get your head out of the clouds and get a job. A real job, not trying to get people to pay you to play a game. All that effort...

    Party Treasure Sheets?

I'm looking for a Party Treasure sheet template that I can give to my players to use for recording treasure. Does anyone have any nifty, thematic-looking treasure record sheets?

    Gencon 2009?

I've never been but I'm considering attending. What should I know? How soon should I book? I'll be flying in so I'll need someplace to stay. Any help is appreciated!

    Prone=Flatfooted?

After more than 20 years of gaming, here's a little tidbit of wisdom I've learned over the years... When the other guy finally resorts to "real world" examples, you know he's lost the argument. ;)

cleric spells for finding the bad guy?

Isn't there a locate creature spell somewhere?

    Question to WOTC

I agree. There's far too many armchair lawyers running around saying, "Nah, nah, you can't do that!" If they ask you to take it down, take it down. Otherwise, everyone should just chillax.

    Grenadiers

The Hulking Hurler prestige class from Complete Warrior includes the ability "Throw Anything" which could be helpful. I gave an NPC stone giant the Hulking Hurler prestige class and the effects were awesome! (think of hurling the mine/bomb used at Helm's Deep in the Two Tower LOTR movie)

    Wand Sheath(s)?

In the same vein as masterwork potion belts and masterwork scroll cases (both of which allow their respective items to be pulled out as a free action), we created a masterwork wand case to do the same thing. No more move action to draw a wand.

    Toughness Feat Alternatives?

It's only a big deal insofar as the feat requirement is the "price" that needs to be paid to get access to all the goodies the prestige class has to offer. If you simply replace the Toughness requirement (a sub-optimal feat) with another feat that is more beneficial, then it kinda defeats the...

    Fighting with reach weapons

Which means attacking "through" a rank of front line warriors will provide cover to the enemy, no?

how many are using the new power cards

I'd only buy them for two reasons: 1) If I was playing a particular class on a long-term/ongoing basis; and 2) I didn't subscribe to DDI (which I don't); and 3) To see what they look like.

Suggestions for '10 HUge miniature set

D&D really needs Huge snake and octopus/kraken minis. These are sorely missing from the game. As for the towers, siege weapons, walls, etc., WotC should put out a separate pack of terrain that would include stuff like that. If they wanted to expand, they could throw in doors, gates, etc...

Starting a Rogue char. Is mobility worth it?

I'd interpret it as a lightning fast flurry of attacks following a sudden shift of movement across the battlefield. The first guy never saw it coming and the second guy didn't have time to react. The same issue comes up if you use the Powerful Charge feat (additional damage), kill your initial...
