    Disbelieving Invisibility?

The whole "disbelieve" thing comes from 2E, maybe earlier. Back then you could pretty much choose to disbelieve anything so long as you said, "I disbelieve." It's different in 3E. You have to actually have a basis (interaction) for disbelief in 3E and the save is a result of the interaction.

Make sure the player gets rewarded somehow for shelling out the cash.

Unless you want to take Spring Attack. ;)

    Belker Claws Spell?

Yet another broken spell then. :erm:

    Combust Spell ?

Maybe it's not so bad afterall. Scorching ray does up to 12d6 (although 3 ranged touch attacks are needed), Melf's acid arrow does up to 14d4, and flaming sphere does 2d6 per round for 1 round per level.

    Belker Claws Spell?

From the Spell Compendium (p.26), this looks like another broken and/or badly designed spell. Deals 2d12 dam with a successful touch attack and the spell lasts up to 4 additional rounds, "dealing another 2d12 points of damage per round." Is that automatic additional damage after the initial...

    Combust Spell ?

From the Spell Compendium (p.50), isn't this spell horribly overpowered as written?!?! A 2nd-lvl Sor/Wiz spell that does 1d8 fire dam per caster level (10d8 max) with no save and the target may catch fire!!! I'm thinking the spell is supposed to be limited to "combustible" creatures, as in...

    Mass Aid Spell?

From the Spell Compendium (p.8), it says it affects "multiple subjects at a distance" and the Targets description is "One or more creatures, no two of which are more than 30 feet apart." Does that mean the spell can affect any number of creatures within the above parameters??? (i.e., up to 36...

    Confusion Spell too Powerful?

I think point #1 is way overkill. As in not worth taking the spell anymore.

How does spacing work for a splitting jelly?

I'd have it squeeze. Splitting jellies/oozes is one of the things 3.5 didn't do very well. It doesn't make sense at all that repeatedly splitting oozes makes more oozes of the same power as the original (granted, with 1/2 the hp). There should be some sort of scaling down as they split beyond...

    Your Experiences with Gestalt Characters?

The context of the OP is a 3-player campaign and the Age of Worms adventure path that is geared to a party of 6 PCs. Age of Worms is a really hard campaign so I'm looking at Gestalt as a way to even up the odds a bit so the 3 players won't be in for as difficult a ride.

One Dark Night in Weeping Briar?

We sorta rushed through to finish it so I'd like to see what we missed.

    Your Experiences with Gestalt Characters?

Thinking about maybe using Gestalt characters in the Age of Worms adventure path. Have you used the Gestalt rules before and, if so, how did you find them?

    Wizards spellbook

We use the modified spellbook rules from one of the Forgotten Realms sourcebooks (Magic of Faerun?) that allows you to learn the spells from someone else's spellbook and then actually use that spellbook rather than copying the spells into your own. It makes for much more interesting characters...

How Do You Transport Your Books?

Up until recently I took four containers with me to our games (I'm the DM) at the local gaming shop. I had a canvas book bag for my books, a backpack for my laptop, a large plastic toolbox containing my minis/dice/props, and one of those black plastic tubes artists use to transport my...

    Professional GM Diary: Final Preparations

It may just be me but this whole thing sounds bizarro and a train wreck just waiting to happen. I don't mean this in a mean-spirited way but the whole "business" seems out of touch with reality. I strongly encourage you to let us know how it goes because I'm genuinely interested. My initial...
