    Skirmish?

But couldn't you just spend a move action to move 15 away and then 15 feet back, and then a standard action to make the attack? Why the, "thus ending your move"?

    They Killed Alignment

I don't think there ever really was an alignment "problem." Those who didn't like the concept simply ignored it. Those who liked it used it. I think it's been dumbed down. Either get rid of it entirely or leave it the way it was. Heck, they could have left it the way it was and just broaden...

    Skirmish?

But that's not what the errata says. The errata says the scout must move at least 10 feet away from where they started and the benefits only kick in after moving at least 10 feet. According to that, a scout could move 15 feet away and then 15 feet back and qualify for skirmish. Which seems...

    Skirmish?

A scout must move at least 10 feet to benefit from skirmish. Can a scout move two squares away and then back two squares to his/her original position and gain the benefits of skirmish? Or does the scout have to end up in different squares?

D&D 4E Is it just me, or do damaging effects suck in 4E?

Nor should it. Otherwise it would defeat the whole purpose of having the extra HP.

    Keep on the Shadowfells Questions!

One thing I didn't like about KotS (and it may be true of all stat blocks going forward) is the lack of including equipment. It seems like unless it's an armour or a weapon or a magic item the creature has listed in its stat block, there's nothing there. A couple creatures in KotS have...

Expertise, "Fighting Defensively", Tumble, AND YOU!

I require PCs to actually be making attacks against an actual target when using Expertise, because I've had a player try and say he was constantly attacking empty space to gain the AC bonus.

    New Class Article: Engineer

I'm still not buying it. That's 6d6 with no conditions. Fighting with two of them means an ungodly number of attacks, all at 6d6. And sneak attack? Oh yeah, you can add that 7d6 on top of the 6d6 for 13d6 in one shot. Ummm, no. It's broken.

    New Class Article: Engineer

Interesting, but I think those weapon improvements are way broken. 6d6 for a dagger?!?

    D&D 3.x Converting 4E Minion Concept to 3.5E ???

Has anyone considered this? Are there any threads on it? Not looking for specific creature conversions, just the how-to.

Excerpt: Minions. Go forth mine minions! Bring havoc with your 1 hp [merged]

I think the concept of minions is going to quickly be made irrelevant as PCs keep an area effect damage spell/power (however low level) in reserve for the end encounter. Presto! All minions removed from the board. Watch how quickly PCs adapt to counter the concept of minions...

    Weapon Master Prestige Class (3.0)

Thanks, but I'm more interested in finding out what people think about the 3.0 Weapon Master prestige class.

    Weapon Master Prestige Class (3.0)

To my knowledge, the Weapon Master prestige class from Sword & Fist (3.0) was never updated to 3.5. Is there a reason why? Was it unbalanced? I'm running a 3.5 game and someone wants to use it. The ki damage, increased multiplier, superior weapon focus, and superior combat reflexes all seem...

    Dragonlance Lost Chronicles Canceled ?!?!

I was listening to the live interview of Tracy Hickman and was shocked to learn that WotC has canceled the third book (Dragons of the Hourglass Mage) in the Lost Chronicles series and notified Weis and Hickman that it will not be produced. I find this to be a travesty. This book fills in the...

    Dragonlance Themes?

I'm interested in archetypal themes prevalent in the Dragonlance campaign world. I'm currently running a campaign and am looking for some thematic ideas linked to the canonical Dragonlance world. I can think of a few: - humour - love and loss (sacrifice) - individual choice vs. interference of...

    Wands of Cure Light? Bah!

Agree entirely. It's a rules loophole (and a cheesy one at that) that's left to the DM to adjudicate (and close).

    D&D 4E A Couple 4E Questions...

After reading the new previews, I have a couple questions... 1) Will it be possible to advance monsters at all, either with class levels or via some other means? One of the things I like about 3E was the ability to tailor monsters as I see fit. Yes, it can be a lot more work but I don't mind...

    Recharging Question

Yes it does. It means 5 or higher. Saves space, especially if it recharges on a 2 (in which case you'd have to put 2,3,4,5,6).

    Recharging Question

If you have to roll for each separate ability then I think the whole thing is silly and a waste of time. I thought they were trying to simplify and get rid of unnecessary bookkeeping? If one result roll of, say 6, gets all the abilities back, then yeah that's bad for the PCs. But by the same...
