    Recharging Question

Does a creature roll once for all recharging abilities? For example, if one ability needs a 5,6 and another needs a 6, does a roll of 6 recharge both or do you need to roll separately for each? I'm really hoping it's the former.

D&D 3.x DND 3.5 Swift Action - Swift Action Spell

The newer 3.5 rulebooks have sidebars in the first couple pages that describe the different types of actions and how/when they can be used. I've attached my handy-dandy action types table that I reference when questions arise.

The Shadar-kai are NEVER going to be the next drow

I'm with the OP. Give it up already. I don't want to be force-fed the shadar-kai. They're not cool in my books.

    Dungeons of Dread...disappointing

They were (and I think still are) hand painted in China. From what I recall, the painting process is very much structured. So it's not like a particular mini is going to have a bad paint job; all of those same minis will have the same (bad) paint job. The rarer the mini, the more...

    D&D in the Military?

Over the years I've read comments from people about how they played D&D in the military. I'm curious about how that works. Does the military frown on it? Approve of it? Not care? I think I read that the Israeli army disapproves but I'm not 100% on that. I would think there's more pros than...

    Dungeons of Dread...disappointing

Has WotC made any comments on the (inferior) quality issues? I thought I read that the person who used to be in charge of quality control isn't anymore and that might have something to do with the decline...

    Dungeons of Dread...disappointing

I preface this statement with the fact that I haven't seen any of the minis "in-hand," but I agree 100% based off the previews I've seen on the WotC site. To be blunt, a lot of them look simply horrible. Like what we used to get back with Harbinger or Dragoneye. Seriously, the quality control is...

How Do You Store All Those Minis?

I've gone through a variety of storage solutions. First, I started with 5-drawer plastic toolboxes that are commonly used for nuts, bolts, tools, etc. When I got to 6 of them, I realized I needed a better way... Then I bought a cabinet where I could store them, easily see what I have, and keep...

Whats up with 10/magic damage reduction?

DR/magic is garbage in 3.5 and might as well be gotten rid of entirely. For any PC above 1st-level, it's totally irrelevant. We house ruled needing a +1 weapon for every 5 DR just to give DR/magic some usefulness.

Touch of Healing - How does it work?

We've been using Touch of Healing for several months now and it's been a very welcome addition to our game. Not broken at all. What it's good for is saving healing resources. The great limiting factors are that, (a) it can't heal you above half; (b) it takes a standard action to use; and (c) it...

    Tactical Encounter Format?

Thanks! That's exactly what I'm looking for.

    Tactical Encounter Format?

Has WotC put out any standardized format for Tactical Encounters as they now appear in, for example, Dungeon? If so, where can I find it?

    Giant rock throwing question?

From the original post, it sounds like it is. See the last paragraph.

    Ghoul Touch

I've found hold person to be a crappy spell in 3E, totally nerfed from 2E. It's rare for someone not to make their save, either initially or in the first couple rounds. That being said, maybe hold person was too powerful back in the day or maybe it's just too powerful in 3E. I don't...

    Giant rock throwing question?

From the SRD: Check: The Spot skill is used primarily to detect characters or creatures who are hiding. Typically, your Spot check is opposed by the Hide check of the creature trying not to be seen. Sometimes a creature isn’t intentionally hiding but is still difficult to see, so a successful...

    Cover & Flanking?

I agree with you. But the argument could be made that you still threaten, but you just can't make an attack or an AoO. Thus, flanking could still apply. I'd probably use the rules quoted above but it's an interesting loophole in the rules.

    Cover & Flanking?

Does cover negate flanking? For example, one of the flanking attackers is attacking through a blade barrier (which grants cover) that's between him and the defender. Does flanking still apply? This came up in our game today and we couldn't find anything that indicated flanking is negated by...
