Yeah, okay, but I'm talking about changing the damage of the monsters as a DM from variable dice expressions (2d8 + 5) into static/fixed/flat/AVERAGE values (15) to speed up the gameplay. Player's still roll for damage. But the DM averages the damage expressions of his monsters. Like minions...

Just add the bonuses to the flat damage? I mean static damages just take the chance out of the equation. Instead of rolling 1d8 + 4 you just take a 5 for the 1d8 and add 4 = 9. Easy. Non? -YRUSirius

I think that's just the delve version you played. According to thalmins preview the Red Box Mage still rolls for damage for attacks with multiple targets. Flat damage is a good way to speed things up though; let all the monsters do flat damage. This way the DM does not have to roll for damage...

Well, a newbie could just mark the specific sections for one class in the same color, so you'll have 28 pages of color coded step-by-step guidelines for building 16 different classes. So you mark all your slayer fighter sections blue, rogues black, etc. Seems simple to me. Hm, so there might...

What builds do the pregens use? Is the fighter a slayer or a knight? The thief, mage and warpriest builds for the rest? What are their class features if they are a build we haven't seen yet? What's shield finesse, if the fighter ist a knight? =) -YRUSirius
