    What's in your pack?

One of our players is still carrying around the special plant fertilizer we found in the first Adventure Path module.

Traveller T20: Tales of the Bray Keaven [Updated 12-20-05]

That's a sign of being a good Ref -- adaptability, and not being afraid to yoink a good idea, no matter what the source is.

Traveller T20: Tales of the Bray Keaven [Updated 12-20-05]

Actually, I believe most of our player swaps have occurred during adventures. The only ones I remember being between adventures were the ones that just happened in the story hour, when Morte took over Vasilii and George took over Vargas. Aidan was a new player add with a new character, and...

    D20 system to play Firefly?

I played a Firefly scenario at Gen Con last year that used the Cyberpunk 2020 rules set. None of the characters had any cybernetics, but the basic game and combat system were used, and it worked pretty well. Of course, we were having so much fun just roleplaying the characters (we were playing...

    Gencon Couples, Help me!

If she enjoys playing games, I don't really see the problem. She can find plenty of games to play during the times you two aren't doing something together. I suggest picking one thing to do together each day, and then pick some things to do seperately. I went to my first GenCon last summer...

Traveller T20: Tales of the Bray Keaven [Updated 12-20-05]

A couple of things I've noticed in revisiting game events in compiling this story hour. First, major plot developments often grow out of what were seemingly minor events. The hunt for Ian's weapon permit is a good example. What started out -- at least for the PCs -- as a minor side adventure...

House buying through the Stronghold Builder's Guide

You also have to remember that the Stronghold Builder's Guide is for that -- building strongholds. The structure you came up with using the book is probably a lot more secure than a normal house of the same size and with the same features. The stronghold probably has walls of stone, while a...

    Creepy...

Yeah, I like to do this, too. One of the female gamers in our group is very afraid of spiders. So giant spiders are always attacking her characters.

    Serenity Preview - No Spoilers

I always have said it would have been better if Carter had made The X-Files movie a stand-alone story (like a monster-of-the-week episode) rather than try to tie in with all the series' mythology. Let's hope he learned his lesson and doesn't make the same mistake with the second movie.

More Serenity Screenings - May 26th

If they keep this up, the movie's spoilers are going to become common knowledge. So they won't be spoilers any more, but everyone will already know everything that is going to happen when they go to see the movie in Sept.

    Austin Pizza Party

I live an hour north of Austin, but I drive to Austin frequently, especially on the weekend. I would be interested, depending on the time and date.

    Serenity Preview - No Spoilers

Some people on an earlier thread had expressed concern about the movie losing one of the TV's little "trademarks" -- no sound in space. There was even a quote posted from Joss saying that was one of the things he had been happy to "give in to" with the studio in order to get the movie made...

    Serenity Preview - No Spoilers

Another thing I was curious about -- I saw someone in the crowd wearing an event-specific Serenity T-shirt for the screenings. Where did he get it? They weren't selling them at the screening or handing them out? Is there someplace online where they can be bought?

    Serenity Preview - No Spoilers

Well I had a good night Thursday. I went to Austin. Found gas for $2.01 a gallon. Discovered Jack-in-the-Box has a new Blueberries and Cream shake; it was pretty tasty. Let's see. What else did I do? Oh yeah. I got to see Serenity, the BEST FREAKIN' MOVIE OF THE YEAR! Book and Mal were at...

Yeah, we made our bed and didn't even get to sleep in it. That's what we get for following a Noble git. ;)

    Creepy...

"I cast Magic Missle at the darkness." (Sorry, couldn't resist) Sometimes reality helps scare the players caught up in the fantasy. Once I ran a campaign in which the PCs were trying to track down the cells of a forbidden murder cult. Most of these cells were hidden out in the wilderness...
